Everything we write is copyrighted to us.
In this case it could be owned by Fox.
But NYT doesn’t own it.
Even a letter written to us can’t be published without the author’s permission. We own the letter and could sell it, etc…but we do not own the intellectual property- the writing.
None of that applies in a news sense.
If it was written to us, then it’s ours too. My guess is that’s the source. Who it was written to.
