The Mongol Empire didn't cover all of Russia evan at its greatest extent in the 13th century:
By 1471, the Mongol Empire (so to speak) had already been gone for over a century; the various Mongol Dynasties that succeeded it (such as the Golden Horde and the Chagatai Khanate) were nowhere near as vast or powerful by the 15th century.
