A Florida woman who fatally shot a mother of four after a long running dispute involving her children will not face murder charges, officials said Monday.
Susan Lorincz, 58, was instead hit with manslaughter and assault raps for killing Ajike Owens earlier this month in Ocala after feuding with her and her family for two years.
Owens’ attorneys — along with lawyer Ben Crump — had demanded the charges be upgraded to murder, highlighting how witnesses heard Lorincz hurling racial slurs at Owens’ children before the shooting. But State Attorney William Gladson opted against the stiffer charge, arguing in a statement the killing did not qualify for the “depraved mind” element of a second-degree murder rap.

Mpther of four? Same father? Married? I bet not.
Why bring a charge with little chance of conviction?
The shooter was regularly harassed on her own property by a family of juvenile delinquents and was under siege at her own home by the attacker who was deservedly shot.
It would be interesting to hear the whole story.
It much chance of that.
I remember looking up more information when this story broke.
The children weren’t playing on her property.
First of all, she’s a renter. She doesn’t own the property. She was renting an apartment in a house.
Secondly, the children were playing in a field next to the apartment she rented, but that field appears to belong to the property next door.
At least she was charged with manslaughter. Unless there’s evidence that the mother was breaking into the apartment, this woman really should be convicted.

If Crump is saying, there is an excellent chance it is a lie.
Well, if true, then it's up to the defense to prove the mother not only made that damage but was in the process of breaking in.
The Left says the woman should be charged with murder, and the Right says she should be handed an award.
I say she was rightfully charged with manslaughter.
Seems a lot of FReepers have learned nothing from the msm narratives on Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Paula Deen, the Waukesha Christmas Parade Massacre, etc.
The schidt that runs for office don’t care about people getting shot. All they care about is making more Nazi and Communist gun laws to keep their jack boots on the throats of Americans.

I’m one of those old school fools who believes in the Bill of Rights and someone who believes that the buffoons in Washington have no Constitutional right to trample those rights.
Crump should be in Jail.

Not if the woman was trying to get into her house to do her harm, she has every right in Florida to defend herself and her home from harm. Even if the home is a rental.
What “delinquent punk kids”? The kids weren’t even playing on her property.
