Last year I mailed a valuable baseball collectible to my Granddaughter. I insured it for the collectors value of the item. With the insurance label on the box, of course it got stolen after it was accepted by the post office and half way through the tracking process. Because it was a game used item with no sales receipt, I was turned down on the insurance and was told tough luck. At this point I would never insure a package of any value through the Post Office. It just advertises the fact that this item is worth stealing and will never get to the final destination.
