You can bet she herself is playing the same game with her own stuff. There is not a corporation or business in this country who does not try to play the system if they can. Been doing it for a hundred years.

What's so stupid about this is that she assumes the banks and insurers and others just accept such filings no questions asked. The banks and insurers have a responsibility and vested interest in analyzing and evaluating any asset valuations presented to them.
They'd be negligent and irresponsible to not do that.
There’s two kind of assessments involved...One is the city...and that’s the actual value of the physical property. Then there’s a second value for the bank...income derived from tenants etc.. They both go to the bank to get a total value...It would be like me and you showing the bank your W-2...they want to get paid back. But still...there are no victims...the bank gets their loan money back plus interest..There are no victims.

See my prior post on this thread. This is way beyond “mortgage applications.” These are complex commercial loans where lenders have a fiduciary duty to scrutinize loan applications closely.
A prosecutor has to convince 12 people.

I dont disagree the banks have a duty. What I’m saying is it’s a crime to lie on those forms.
And determining how much "credit" a borrower has is the responsibility of the lender. The lenders sure don't just accept the asset valuations presented by the borrower.
This half-wit AG is acting as if lenders and insurers just accept asset valuations from customers no questions asked.
Banks, insurers and others failing to do their own due diligence is not a matter of fraud on the part of a borrower or business partner.
That is just standard operating procedure for many AGs and prosecutors. Let’s them have their say to the judge before trial even starts. Almost never granted.
So now it’s criminal to have a differing opinion on the value of some real estate?
Banks have appraisers, if they didn’t do their job that is their fault.
