Osvalgo Montilla, 57, got off a charter bus in Chicago’s West Loop Wednesday afternoon after trekking thousands of miles from Venezuela, thinking about his wife of 25 years who was in a detention facility in Del Rio, Texas.
Montilla, a pharmacist in his home country with three grown children, had traveled to the United States and sat on a bus for 20 hours. But he was most worried about his wife, who he hadn’t seen in five days. When the couple entered the U.S. on Sept. 22, his wife, like thousands of other migrants, was arbitrarily selected to be put in a detention facility.
“Here there is employment. I want to grow — economically and personally,” he said in Spanish. “But my biggest worry is finding my wife.”
He wasn’t sure when or how he would reconnect with her.
Montilla is just one of the hundreds of new migrants who have arrived in Chicago in the past week with an uncertain future, as the number of asylum-seekers has surpassed 15,000 with the arrival of 27 buses since Saturday, including seven on Wednesday. With the city running out of room to house them — as thousands sleep on police station floors and at airports awaiting shelter placement — Mayor Brandon Johnson on Wednesday defended his administration’s decision to contract with a private security firm to help place the new asylum-seekers in base camps before winter.

How right you are! Until they started showing up, we didn’t have to chain anything down. We are in farm country. One neighbor friend swore up and down that the migrants wouldn’t steal. This farmer hired a family. The men worked the fields while the wife/mother cleaned house and his office. My husband told him to leave $50 on his desk before she cleans and see if it’s still there after she left. The man hid and watched. She went in, cleaned, and came out. He checked the desk and the $50 was gone. He fired the whole family.
The woman screamed and begged because she couldn’t understand why taking the money was wrong. She explained that in her country, the community owned stuff instead of the individual. If somebody had something you needed, it was OK to take it.
He said, “not in this country” as he was escorting them off the farm.
Tents? Hmmm, wait until January rolls around - they'll be begging for Mexico.
The great replacement. Not just for White Folks. The USA is not Europe.
Good observation.
Why do all these lyin’ ass “asylum seekers” alway mention that they come here looking for employment. WTH does employment have to do with “asylum”? Bidenskyyyyy should have been impeached and jailed for this “humanitarian crisis” the bass turd caused just to increase the number of Socialist RAT voters.
A ton more.
“Snowfall will be above normal across most snow-prone areas (except for the Pacific Northwest). Get prepared for oodles of fluffy white throughout the season! Keep a shovel at the ready early, especially in the Northeast and Midwest, where snow will arrive beginning in November with storms, showers, and flurries continuing through the start of spring.”

Tropical people in freezing cold temperatures. Should be fun to watch.
Yes--and change the destination placard to 'Newark' or 'Boston'
27 busses?
Can’t we double that?
Tuff noogies to this guy and the rest. They could have immigrated to the U.S. through legal means, but no, they wanted to show their utter disrespect for our sovereignty. To HECK with them!
Pharmacists, even those at lower levels of certification, are intelligent people, who know chemistry, biology, etc.. There is always work for such people, even in crappy socialist countries.
Why would a middle-aged man, with this background, leave his family and walk 2500 miles to illegally enter the US and live as a homeless person?
Sounds like more MSM bullsh**.
Tents??? Chicago??? Winter coming??? What could go wrong.
That wind coming off the lake is brutal!!
These new miggies sure do complain a lot about everything. They walk 3000 miles in a killer heat wave and b8tch about sitting on a bus for 20 hours.
Oh I’m sure each one will have a personal heater in their tent paid for by the taxpayers aka second class citizens in their own country.
Not the entire US but maybe Trump voters.

“...I want to grow — economically and personally,” he said in Spanish...

Are we now granting “personal growth” asylum?
Yep another Donner pass event
With resources strained in Texas, individuals such as Montilla are receiving all-expenses-paid tickets from the emergency departments in border cities — Del Rio, Eagle Pass, El Paso, Laredo, Brownsville, McAllen — to sanctuary cities. Catholic Charities in San Antonio are sending planes full of migrants to O’Hare International Airport.
DITTO!!
