Those are the highlights and conclusions of neo-Marxist American journalists who despise Netanyahu and Israeli Conservatives, and who hope to destroy the current government.
The assaulted area in Israel totaled just 30 square miles, involved close to 2,000 Hamas suicide soldiers, about eight small Israeli military bases, rural farm land, and small religious communities.
Had it not been for the music festival, or whatever it was, Israeli deaths and hostages would have been much lower.
The initial assault by suicide soldiers targeted the military bases and destroyed most of the communication and surveillance lines to other military bases that could have supplied timely assistance and reinforcement.
In my opinion, one other issue is important. Those communities and bases were on high alert during the three week period around Yom Kippur. The attack came two weeks after Yom Kippur, when a lot of really tired security people were sleeping in or taking the weekend off.
Gaza City is where the focus and the hub of Hamas activities are, that is where most of the commanders are, most of their infrastructure and their ability to continue to operate in Gaza......Hezbollah knows this too and why they are eager to enter this war.

Ah, but most Israelis are disarmed and defenseless. Incredible surprise to me this past week as I thought most would be armed. The need to recognize that civilians have right and need to arm themsleves.
