Never Back Down’s ’60 Days To Beat Trump’ Was Not A ‘Very Smart Thing,’ DeSantis Says

The Trump campaign has trolled DeSantis relentlessly for his super PAC's warning

------------------------------------------------------

LONDONDERRY, N.H. — The top adviser to a super PAC supporting Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign gave the Florida governor 60 days to beat Trump in August.

Sixty days later, during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, DeSantis acknowledged that wasn’t a “very smart thing to do.”

Never Back Down chief Jeff Roe said in August that DeSantis needed to beat Trump in “the next 60 days,” according to audio from a meeting of Never Back Down super PAC donors. In the months since, the Trump campaign has sent a daily “kiss of death” email counting down from Roe’s 60-day timeline.

DeSantis brushed off Roe’s 60-day comment when speaking to reporters at the Red Arrow Diner in Londonderry, and distanced himself from the Republican strategist. Roe had addressed donors and made the 60-day comment just before the first GOP presidential debate,

“He’s not my adviser, and they do what they want to do. I think that that’s fine. I don’t think very many people think that that was a very smart thing to do with whatever was going on with that,” DeSantis said. “I can tell you that had nothing to do with anything I’ve done with any of the debates. We go in and let it rip.”

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign celebrated the 60th day since Roe’s comments with a black-and-white video essentially eulogizing the DeSantis campaign, which is not over. One Trump spokesman posted a picture of a casket on social media “In honor of the DeSantis campaign going six feet under….”

"Was all of this worth it, Ron? Was it worth selling your soul to the devil Jeff Roe because you thought you could buy the presidency? He has you on a leash and walks you like a dog. Maybe you're into that type of stuff,” the Trump campaign said in an email to reporters.

The Trump campaign will continue its daily emails and memes attacking DeSantis despite the 60-day countdown coming to an end, it said on Tuesday. Never Back Down did not comment.

“The Kiss of Death Countdown has been such a hit with reporters, DeSanctus staffers, and Always Back Down employees that we have some big news to announce. The daily hits on DeSanctus will continue because we won't ever stop,” the Trump campaign added.

Ron Desantis decided to run. I wish him well, but I don’t think he’s going to be the nominee. I don’t know about his political future, maybe he should try being a Senator after governorship.

Of course Trump wants the nomination and presidency. His method to get there is to humiliate, insult and make fun of his opponents. This is quite effective.

One might want to think past this. It is possible that the left big state might could actually get him.

Trump is older and human and it is possible, heaven forbid, that he gets sick or dies.

In either case, even the most avid Trump supporter would do well considering the name calling, insulting etc of DeSantis who, in the eyes of most is second to Trump. This gives the left big state ammo to use against him.

It is fine to campaign hard however think about how you do it and the possible consequences.

DeSantis & Never Back Down have provided plenty of mocking material.

The DeSantis campaign is small-minded, using tired old divisive tactics pitting Americans against one another while Trump mocks the candidate. From the disastrous roll out on Twitter to the bizarre LGBT Ron DeSwampmonster attack ad, that campaign has been a fiasco.

That sounds more like Trump than DeSantis. Granted, getting Jeff Roe anywhere near a campaign is bad news.

More and more desantis supporters seem to be hoping Trump dies, so desanctimonious may have a shot at becoming president....

Yet they still haven’t explained why desantis, who has been shown to be a liar, manipulate people, be corrupt and deliberately launder $83 million in campaign funds to neverbackdown, and is supported by the swamp GOPe rino uniparty, is a good thing.

They must identify with these characteristics of desantis, thus support them.

DeSantis threw himself under the bus by not waiting until 2028. Everyone with half a brain knows 2020 was stolen - Trump won that election, making him for all intents and purposes the incumbent going into 2024.

Challenging a popular incumbent is just dumb - especially when that popular incumbent is on the right side of almost every issue. Putting the interests of American citizens first, securing the southern border, energy independence, anti-wokeness, standing up to the CCP, ending forever wars, draining the DC swamp, protecting the 1st and 2nd amendments, etc., etc..

Think about it…. Assuming Trump won in 2020 (which he did), that means more than half of all voters and nearly 100% of Republicans not only voted for him, but are royally pissed off about the non-stop fake impeachments, the stolen elections, and the morons now running the country (and the world) into the ground.

If you are DeSantis, and you decide you want to challenge Trump in 2024, that means you have to convince nearly 100% of Republicans that their beloved hero, Trump, is flawed and you are the better choice.

Good luck with that.
