I do not want our servicemen to lose pay because they are denied their promotions.
Certainly would not want our response to defend US slowed because of this. Is this the only way?

Russia’s initial endeavour into the Ukraine was green lighted by obama in early 2012 (recall barry’s comment to medvedev about having “more flexibility” after the election).
Yanukovych promised the people more economic integration with the EU. Under pressure from Putin, Yanukovych went back on his word, and sold out to Russia. As Yanukovych became more unpopular, Putin sent FSB and Spetsnaz assets to prop him up. It was these assets (dressed as Ukrainian secret police) who attacked civilians during the riots that led to Yanukovych fleeing to Russia. Once Yanukovych fled, Putin sent those assets to the Donbas to conduct further attacks against civilians to stir up anti-ukrainian sentiment and lay the groundwork for Putin’s further involvement in Ukraine.
The neo-soviets completely ignore the fact that Petro Poroshenko was president from 2014 to 2019. Zelensky was democratically elected in 2019 running on a platform of ending the conflict with Russia and putting a stop to corruption. President Trump asked Zelensky to reopen the investigation into Hunter Biden and Burisma earning President Trump an impeachment because the democrats were scared that the investigation could implicate obama/biden.
Once the election was stolen in 2020, biden’s handlers gave the go ahead for Putin to widen the war with the hope that incriminating evidence gets destroyed and potential witnesses killed in the resulting full scale invasion.
The neo-soviets and the neocons in reality are two sides of the same coin. They both seek the reestablishment of the Soviet Union at any cost. The neo-soviets want to reclaim their former glory, while the neocons just want to be relevant again.
If hillary had won in 2016, Ukraine would now be one of the states in the new USSR with other eastern European countries soon to follow through election fraud or outright military conquest by Russia.
And nazis in Ukraine? Putin has a bigger problem with his own ties to nazis.

Let’s not forget Putin’s once favored Wagner PMC. A group named in honor of the German composer who was idolized by the nazis, and especially hitler himself. Wagner’s military leader Dmitry Utkin a former member of the Russian spetsnaz and self proclaimed neo-nazi with multiple nazi themed tattoos.
