Hamas is blocking foreign nationals including Britons from leaving Gaza, the United States said on Sunday, as Israel sent more troops into the strip to join a ground offensive.

Britain was on Sunday working to rescue trapped citizens as civil disorder and looting broke out at UN aid warehouses in besieged Gaza.

American officials said that Israel and Egypt were prepared to let foreigners leave the Strip which is under heavy Israeli bombardment, but Hamas had refused.

Not ‘could be’. They ARE. No authentic Brit would go to a sh**hole like Gaza for vacation.

“Hamas blocks foreign nationals from leaving Gaza”

Of course, Hamas uses civilians as human shields.

Further aid should be conditioned on allowing free passage of foreign citizens out of Gaza AND the release of all hostages. Until then, absolutely no aid. And when aid is allowed it, it should be under the strict control and distribution of UN or other 3rd party with commitment from HAMAS to not touch it. Otherwise, no further aid if it is diverted.

The sooner Israel can track down and kill every member of HAMAS, the better for all around. But since Palestinians obviously support HAMAS, what should be done with them?

No one wants them. The problem is that they can smuggle in the weapons by using their tunnels.

Maybe Israel takes control of a mile swath of land along the Egyptian border to clear out and make sure no tunnels ever get redug?

33 trucks with aid entered Gaza, according to the UN.

It’s like Hotel California. You can check in but you can’t check out.

Israel’s Leading Businessman urges Netanyahu be replaced immediately
Netanyahu causes uproar; says intel chiefs never warned him of attack plans

JERUSALEM, Oct 29 (Reuters) - The head of self-driving auto technologies firm Mobileye and one of Israel’s leading businessmen, Amnon Shashua, on Sunday urged the immediate ouster of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.

Shashua, in a high-profile public rebuke from Israel’s private sector, said Netanyahu’s government was guilty of “failures, dissonance and incompetence” since Hamas gunmen crossed from Gaza in a deadly rampage of southern Israeli towns on Oct. 7.

“We must cut our losses and do it quickly. The only solution to the current situation in Israel is to replace the government, and it needs to happen immediately,” Shashua wrote in an opinion piece in financial daily Calcalist.

Netanyahu caused his own uproar on Sunday by taking a jab at his intelligence chiefs, saying they never warned him Hamas was planning its attack, but later retracted his comments and issued an apology.

Netanyahu’s office, asked by Reuters, declined to comment on Shashua’s editorial.

The government, Shashua said, which seemed more concerned about its political survival than “the good of the country,” could be replaced without calling a new election, minimizing political turmoil, with the formation of a new coalition within the current parliament.

Netanyahu has not taken responsibility over intelligence and operational failures, saying only that there would be time to ask tough questions, including of himself, after the war.

Israeli officials have said events leading up to and including the handling of the Hamas attack would be investigated, but that the current focus was on the conflict.

Shashua co-founded Mobileye firm in 1999. It was bought by Intel in 2017 for $15.3 billion and last year again went public. He also founded One Zero digital bank and AI firm AI21 Labs.

So let’s do a contrast:

Ukraine - all foreign national are free to come and go, but all military-age males cannot leave

Russia - we sign up “volunteer” prisoners and mercenaries as cannon fodder.

Israel - everyone is free to come and go, military reservists voluntarily join units and IDF volunteers fly in from around the world

Gaza - nobody can leave, we take your car keys and use everyone as human shields while we steal your food and bury in tunnels.

Got it.

Some have family there. The population of Palestinian immigrants (includes naturalized citizens I believe) in the USA is estimated at around 170,000 per various sources. And then there would be extended family members, descendants of older now deceased immigrants, and so on.

These “foreign nationals” are probably all Hamas supporters who scammed a foreign passport.
