I’m a USAF Veteran, and you’re a geriatric foreign woman.
Shut your mouth.
That isn’t the point! Military is uniformity and “uniqueness” isn’t the code! You may “think” this isn’t destructive of the very fabric of the military, you’d be dead wrong. This is destructive of the very fabric that underpins the United States Military. Sorry but you couldn’t be more wrong.
you’re wrong
You are an idiot that knows nothing about the military.
There was a reason that Reagan ended this sort of nonsense with his 1981 Executive order.
Your arguments sound like typical civilian liberal arguments about this sort of thing in civilian life and show that you do not understand the military, especially this country’s military.
Just part of the plain to destroy the country
because he has a ponytail?
get a grip, the US Military will survive this
You obviously never served..
You mean about the meaning of the word "Uniform"? The military seems to be the only institution left that has an actual standard uniform. That, and maybe state troopers on traffic patrol. Even the police have pretty much dropped uniforms, except for the higher ups who dress up like South American Dictators for events where they are on camera.
Doctors, nurses, priests, nuns, and the list goes on. The modern world has gone casual. I wonder if Jesus will be wearing a robe on Judgement Day.
Absolutely--I'm retired military but I still work as a civilian for the Air Force and over the past decade I've seen a shift in the attitude among the force from "service before self" to self before service. It gets more individual centric each time senior leaders appease the whims of an individual or group.
Tribalism not citizenship.
A couple of points from a former AF Security Policeman:
First, that airman is going to learn (eventually) that when he tries to break up a bar fight or a domestic disturbance…that braid is going to be an excellent target for an idiot to grab and do some damage to the airman.
Second…this is all on the path that the Dutch military took when they allowed troops to unionize. Long hair, smoking joints on post, male ear rings, etc. I worked with many of them, and they had to be the least professional force in NATO. Unions for active DoD troops is coming…
…and NO, I will never recommend the military as a career anymore.
Excellent point--with today's surveillance capability some sentry removal techniques may no longer work but grabbing the target by the hair and pulling the head back to expose the throat was one reason given for military members having short hair.
“he works security FFS.”
You mean like guarding important stuff? Classified equipment? Nukes maybe? That handle on the back of his head would make a mighty good leverage point for some sneaky bad guy to grab just before he rams a knife into his larynx.
L
I bet his off duty time he’s got it unbraided and just long.
Back when I was in (68-76) guys would go through tremendous regimes with hair gel and their long hair to make it seem like it’s regulation. Sold so much of “Dippity Doo” they put it in the PX......
We will soon be separated by way of our tribes; Euro, Indian, African, Latin, Arab.
Look at that guy. Again! Does he look Indian to you? He probably has more White blood than anything else.

Death by a thousand cuts. The US military is NOT going to survive in any recognizable form. Organized mob perhaps.
Only Men get to wear the mohawk. Women have to wear a braid.
Dream on.
