Trump super PAC targets DeSantis with $23 million in negative ads compared to $6 million against Biden
The New York Post ^ | 11/16/2023 | Dianan Glenbova

Make America Great Again Inc., the super PAC backing former President Donald Trump, has spent a magnitude more on ads targeting 2024 rival Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis than on President Biden — despite Trump leading the GOP field by over 40 points on average.

MAGA Inc. has spent over $23 million funding ads opposing DeSantis and over $6.7 million against Biden, according to data published by Rob Pyers, research director for the California Target Book.

The large discrepancy in spending shows Trump’s camp is engaged in the primary election and is not merely focusing on beating Biden, as the former president’s campaign has tried to convey in his messaging and skipping out on every GOP debate.

“The spending will stop when Ron DeSantis goes back to doing what he was elected to do — govern the state of Florida,” Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for MAGA Inc., told The Post.

Trump has called on the Republican National Committee to cancel all debates to focus on defeating the Democrats. He has also said he would not want to engage in debates with “people that shouldn’t even be running for president” while speaking to Tucker Carlson in a counter-program interview during the first GOP debate.

The Florida governor is the primary target of negative advertising out of all the candidates, racking up over $25 million in opposing ads from backers of other White House hopefuls. Biden comes in second place with a total of $20.2 million in attack ads from the 2024 field, according to Pyers’ data.

Never Back Down, the super PAC supporting DeSantis, has not spent any money on Biden attack ads, and has instead focused on Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, the data shows. ***

None of the other Republican contenders are a threat to Trump. This is an extreme waste of money.

He likes Biden but hates DeSantis. Go figure.

Why bother? No one but Trump has a chance. Why can’t he spend money on election integrity?

Trump attacks Biden daily. You have to listen. Right now they are vying for who gets the nomination.

Well, Trump is not running against Biden. Not yet.

Meanwhile, DeSantis presents the more immediate threat to Trump’s candidacy, even if a very small one. He should be targeting the bigger threat on the republicans side, meaning Nikki Haley.

Bid3en will get a lot more attention later, with much bigger money involved.

I wish Trump hated Biden more than he loves to hate DeSantis. He’ll be out of money by the time the DNC pulls a last-minute switch with a younger, more appealing Democrat who will be harder to beat.

A great way to win the battle, but lose the war.

Priorities, priorities…

Yep...

In a competition, you take out your opponents in the CURRENT race, before thinking about the next one..

So take out and completely crush desanctimonious, and win the primary, before fully starting the campaign against biden...

But the nevertrumping desantis supporters can’t stand that desanctimonious can’t stand up to any heat and is going to completely crumble with the attention he’s going to get.

Trump does not have a say in how a Superpac spends it’s money.

Maybe he wants to force RDS to drop out before the next debate, then attend and declare himself the candidate

Good.

First we take out DeSantis, then we take out Biden.

That’s the order of things.

Desantis has pissed away any future chances to be President. But maybe he’ll popularize high-heeled cowboy boots? Too bad. He was a good gubner.
