(Reuters) -Israel, the United States and Hamas have reached a tentative agreement to free dozens of women and children held hostage in Gaza in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting, the Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing people familiar with the deal.
As part of the detailed, six-page agreement, all parties would freeze combat operations for at least five days while "an initial 50 or more hostages are released in smaller groups every 24 hours", the Post reported. Hamas took about 240 hostages during its Oct. 7 rampage inside Israel that killed 1,200 people.
The newspaper said overhead surveillance would monitor ground movement to help police the pause, which also is intended to allow in a significant amount of humanitarian aid. There was no immediate comment from the White House or the Israeli prime minister's office on the Post report.
The hostage release could begin within the next several days, according to people familiar with its the agreement.

So predictable. U.S pressure. Israel will rattle off some statistics about tunnels destroyed, hamas killed and retreat
. Hamas will gloat. The U.S warships in the East Med, will do public relations stuff to show Arabs how even handed they are assisting in getting aid to the musloids in Gaza. And then go home. Israel will be subjected to a war off asymetrrical attrition, terrorism, hostage taking on a continual basis. And to rub salt in, the U.S will pivot straight to forcing a two state scenario on them by recognising a paleostine state with bordes ‘ yet to be determined’.
Start the pause right AFTER the hostages start coming out.
Tell Hamas to group them all together and at an agreed upon time stream them out.
Let Hamas decide where.
It should only take a couple of hours
IMO Israeli is buying as much time as it can by slow walking any deal while Israel continues to destroy Hamas nests.
They would be foolish to give Hamas a cease fire to recover. Hamas will not hold to any deal but will delay and use the pause to lay traps for the IDF.
Solve the problem; don’t perpetuate it.

Just my opinion gleaned from years of studying the Bible and understanding the special relationship God has with Israel and Israelis plus the covenant He made with them a few thousand years ago.

If the government plan is to bomb empty building and cave under pressure then one day a nuclear bomb will fall in Israel. This is what the terrorists learn by this that Israel will falll to international pressure.

If accurate, Netanyahu and ultimately Israel will not survive this deal.
Hamas is screwed. Giving them 5 days only allows them to leave Northern Gaza to the South which simplifies the job of eradicating them from the North while reducing IDF casualties.
The IDF ISR systems will know where the Hamas runs to and there is only so much rubble in the North to hide in these days.
For those that escape from the North , well, a few more Hamas terrorists plus or minus in the South are not going to make any militarily significant difference and they going to be more of curse than a blessing for Gaza and Hamas.
When the world finally sees the sum totality of what the IDF has done to Northern Gaza, the inhabitants of Southern Gaza will be on their knees in fear because the IDF has literally razed North Gaza to the ground.
Rebuilding will be harder than starting from empty lots due to the destruction and there ain't gonna be any cement and construction supplies to steal for tunnels and rockets in post war Gaza.
You don't need to bet on it because it's already a done deal. Northern Gaza is now pretty much an uninhabitable moonscape.
Too bad, so sad but the Gaza must be crushed so completely that the Gazans are like the residents of post WWII Japan and Germany- a defeated people brought to ruined because they followed their violent ideology to the bitter end. The whole concept of what Gaza became is insane. A tiny, isolated plot of land that nobody wants to enter or invade and no ability to attack all but a very limited area of Isreal. And one that they fortified with tunnels and weapons stuffed in every nook and cranny of every school, hospital and mosque to take on one of the most advanced and capable military powers in the world. Sheer insanity but the IDF has broken the spell and the residents of Gaza are beginning to realize the error of their way.
What a find and would assure the destruction of Israel and the creation of a nuclear weaponized Iran to become the preeminent power in the region.
I’m afraid Israel will be forced into something that once again will weaken their future.
There is no way Hamas will honor a ceasefire.
Let’s see if Israel drags this out indefinitely, and if larger rescue attempts are made.
Bibi should announce a program for Israel to double it’s nukes in 4 years. Then “negotiate” modest cuts from that, never revealing how many Israel actually has to start with.
Congress needs to get it’s **** together and pass the aid to Israel complete with specific deadlines for shipment of ammo and so forth. No wiggle room for the Administration, no room for mischief. The House should demand a “pay for” from the Senate by Thanksgiving with the agreement it will approve it immediately (before Thanksgiving.)

-It is unknown how many of what is believed to be 239 hostages will be released.
