Al-Monitor, a D.C.-based website that reports on the Middle East, reports that a senior Hamas official announced (although he later walked back) that the terrorist group is open to recognizing Israel. In the same vein, I’d like to announce that I have an absolutely lovely, historic bridge to sell you…you know, the one connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan. In other words, if Israel believes this kind of talk, more fool her.
Currently, Israel is ascendent on the battlefield in Gaza, having killed at least 5,000-plus Hamas fighters (think of it as having killed at least 5,000-plus Nazis), with the remainder starting to surrender in droves, leaving behind the “hospitals” that were among their operational bases (with others located in schools, houses of worship, etc.):

You read that correctly. They left the hospital, which they were using as a command center, (and the patients which they were using as human shields), to surrender.

Militarily, Hamas is not doing well. That fact has prompted it to float the idea of a backdoor recognition of Israel:
A senior Hamas official suggested the Gaza-based militant group would recognize Israel as a step toward ending the long-running divisions between the Palestinian factions.
Speaking to Al-Monitor in his Doha office on Monday, Mousa Abu Marzouk struck a careful tone on Israel some two months after his group carried out the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
If you read further into the article, though, what you discover is that Hamas is talking about becoming a part of the PLO.

Radio news report today said that fully two out of three of ALL buildings in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed by airstrikes and in the last 24 hours 250 buildings were hit. Now thats CUHRAAAZY!!!
Their last play involves the American hostages. If they give them up, then they (Hamas) are dead. If they kill them, then they (Hamas) are dead. So, not like there is a lot of strategizing here.
Reminds me of the woman who told me how much she loved me and wanted to get married, before running off halfway across the country with a biker who turned out to be an abusive druggie. (Yes, it’s true, no, I never had a thing to do with her ever since. Bibi is at least as un-naive as I was.)

I’m just about to accuse the IDF of incompetence for not using Air/Fuel/Explosives on the entire Gaza strip.

Even if true (and it isn’t)- too little, too late. Too little, because they’ll always be at war against Israel and all Jews, too late because they couldn’t rewind the clock to October 6, even if they wanted to (and, again, they don’t - they still celebrate it).

About 250 targets hit from the air per day, is about normal Operational Tempo there (it is intense). One aircraft may strike multiple targets on a single trip (sortie), but they are each typically large bombs (like 1,000 or 2,000 lbs each). Flight times are just a few minutes.
In addition to that heavy aerial bombardment, all of Gaza is under the Artillery fan of IDF 155mm howitzers, and they can drop 100 lb rounds at will (as can ships off the coast).
Also, Tanks can provide direct cannon fire.
Any terrorist that opens fire better move, because return fire won’t be long in arriving.
No Hamas fortification can withstand Israeli firepower, and they are being aggressively demolished.
