“Without electricity here.”
A few weeks back my son, DIL, her son and GD rented a cabin in the Cascade Mountains to go skying. First night the electricity goes out and it is like -4 degrees. They did have wood for a wood stove and flash lights. The electricity was out all 3 days they were there. They were able to charge their cell phones at the little market as they had a generator.
My DIL became a believer in what she had thought was a conspiricy theory when people talked about the powers that be shutting off your electricity. Well that is exactly what they did. They shut off the power to this region as they figured most of them would have generators where King County, Seattle area wouldn’t.
Funny thing she said she rather enjoyed it for that short time as it brought more closeness and figuring out what to do.

I loved it when the electricity went out at our Sierra cabin. I felt like I was living a Thoreauvian life. There’s Something About Life becoming very simple when you have to worry about the usually little things, and there’s no room to think about much more.
We’ve had power and water go out. Not at the same time thank goodness. I’d much rather have no power. Having no water was difficult, even though it was winter and I could melt snow
