King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.
It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.
Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

charles does have congestive heart failure, but according to reports has tried to hide it for years.
Its my understanding that things are not as cut and dried in the UK. Should be but not our country.
I agree with those who believe Harry is mentally ill harboring everything from drug addictions (he has admitted lots of use), to Stunted growth (his emotional age seems to hover somewhere around 11 or 12\), Borderline Personality Disorder with strong Narcissistic Traits, and extremely low functioning intellect. Andrew may be a stinking pile of human refuse, but he’s a far better alternative. And I didn’t even bring up the sociopath Harry married....... Yeah if I were a British Subject knowing King Charles allowed Harry all he did and left him in line for the throne, I’d be wanting to abolish the monarchy.
And Harry isn’t just off the beam mentally. He’s A garbage human who doesn’t give one thinkers damn about the African native his Africa Parks has raped abused and tortured. He could have used his name and connections to help those people instead of lining his pockets. Garbage human.
I am sorry for the Kings cancer diagnosis and wish him Gods grace and full recovery. I thank God they do have William and Katherine. They are the two gems in the monarchy alone with Anne and Edward and their families.
I heard that after I posted. I agree, it sounds likely. My MIL had that. They did an ablation and she was good to go. Even at 93 they told us it was not a “big deal.” And it wasn’t.

But if "treatment" = chemotherapy, thus timeline implies more than a bit of urgency.
So that is perhaps why Charles has hesitated. The British sovereign is a constitutional monarch and is supposed to refrain from political issues, concerning themselves mainly with international diplomacy, with acting as curators of history and tradition, and engaging in charitable welfare of the British people.
It is unfortunate that Harry and his son Archie are 5th and 6th in line to the throne, after William and his children George, Charlotte and Louis. After Harry and Archie comes Prince Andrew, and then his daughter Beatrice and her toddler daughter, and then his younger daughter Eugenie and her two toddler boys.
If a minor is the person to take the throne, a Regent is appointed to guide them. Princess Anne, 17th in line, is a logical choice, and then her broher Edward, 14th in line. They are 73 and 59, respectively. But Andrew and his family might try to fight it out with Harry and Meghan for the job. God help us.
That said, it is still not worth abolishing the monarchy. England and Scotland now have a Hindu and a Muslim in the top job, and the Republic of Ireland has a half-Indian lapsed-Catholic gay man. That is the kind of leadership the world could expect from the world's heretofore most successful institutions of Western Civ if elected by democracy.

There’s a bill allowing Parliament to remove titles after a prolonged process, but it’s doubtful it would pass. The only titles that could be removed would be Duke and Duchess. Prince is inherited and, if Meghan lost her Duchess title, she’d automatically become Princess Harry’s Lawful First Name, which I forget.
I think it differs from the Danish rules that allowed the Queen to remove Prince and Princess from her younger son’s children.
I think that there are also family reasons why Charles wouldn’t take that step. It would be an irrevocable step between himself and Harry. Nothing to do with the country. Everything to do with making a conscious choice to lose a son.
As for political interference, wait until closer to November. When Michelle Obama enters against Trump, Meghan will be there with her Dutchess title playing sycophant and cheerleading in the hopes of pushing herself into the Democratic party’s graces.

Everybody is focusing about whether or not Harry lied about his drug use on his visa paperwork.
But I’m wondering if what this is really about is finding out whether or not Harry is here on a type of visa that would allow the Harkles to dodge US, and likely UK, income taxes.
If it comes out that the Harkles are tax cheats and both governments as well as the House of Windsor know it...
