King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.

It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.

The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.

Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

I’m wondering how much that Spanish gossip report, the one memtioning an alleged late December trip to the hospital by the PoW and Kate’s supposed coma have to do with this.

This smells like a modified limited hangout to me.

If so, likely resulting from the above.

Note to the House of Windsor: Good luck with that.

And BTW, if any or all of these sudden health issues, Eddie’s too, are vaxx related...

You vaxxed your kids.

Think about THAT.

Ahh, a little cancer never hurt anybody. Everybody needs a little cancer, I think. It's good for you. Keeps you on your toes. Besides, I ain't afraid of cancer... I had broccoli for lunch. Broccoli kills cancer! A lot of people don't know that; it's not out yet. It's true. You find out you got some cancer...(click) get yourself a bowl of broccoli. That'll wipe it right out in a day or two. Cauliflower too; cauliflower kills the really big cancers. The ones you can see through clothing from across the street. Broccoli kills the little ones. The ones that are slowly eating you away from inside while your goofy, half-educated doctor keeps telling you, "You're doing fine, Jim."

In fact, bring your doctor a bowl of broccoli. He's probably got cancer too. Probably picked it up from you.

If there was Asbestos found in the palace during the current remodeling, it would have made headlines and the building would have been closed.

Agree. Cancer, especially, remains a medical monster. An evil that should never be wished on another, friend or foe.
Or satisfaction taken at another’s diagnosis.

“Obama’s HHS told people that PSA tests were more trouble than they’re worth...”
I visited my URO after that announcement and he was upset, but laughing at the insanity.

This is exactly why each and every man should have a PSA blood test yearly!

Yup. Was tinkling more frequently. Had a PSA 9 years ago. A simple blood draw. Looked elevated. Then the old finger up the bum. Found a "bump". (A MRI is a better tool but wasn't offered to me back then.) So I had a biopsy which confirmed suspicions.

Hadn't I had a PSA, my stage 1 would likely have been moving to a more severe stage before I knew it - and to who knows where in my body.

I still get a PSA twice a year to make sure all is "normal".

Autopsy the prostate of most men who die of what ever after age 65 and you'll likely find cancer there.

So terribly sorry to hear of this. Charles waited faithfully for his turn and this seems like a cruel twist of fate. Hard on William who will have to become an emotional support for wife and father, too. The burden is going to weigh heavier on William faster than he expected.

The abject callousness of some people on this forum really sickens me.

Word for word, what I was thinking. To the best of my knowledge he has not done anything to harm a single person on this forum.

The VA did a study many years ago and almost all men above 75 yoa had some form of cancer and most PCa.

Yes, not all prostate cancers are the same. But some varieties can and will kill you and do it relatively quickly and unpleasantly.

When considering the British monarchy through most of its history, it was held by hard charging nationalists who rightly and wrongly put England above all. They protected it, unashamedly expanded it, enriched themselves and their country and as an intended or unintended byproduct permanently defined much of the world’s values and culture. Their efforts also resulted in English being the universal language of science, commerce and diplomacy.

Yet today the British monarchy has declined to reflect what has become of Britain itself. The current King Charles is a passive man who is reduced to whining about the weather. He would never be confused with a bulldog leader. He remains silent as his country commits cultural suicide and devolves into a quaint stop on the tourist trail.

Charles II did flee, but then returned and reigned for 25 years after the restoration.

As much as I have disliked the actions of Charles over the years, I must admit that he has stayed pretty quiet and apolitical during his current reign.

As such, I wish him great success in battling his illness.

I agree. Some comments are often more like The Daily KOS these days

While we may not like Charles and the Royals, it is a human life.
