178 months in prison
Yes, 14 years which usually means about 3-4 served in follow up stories I look up from true crime book cases and FBI Files episodes. Almost no one really serves the full, weak, sentences.

to conduct surveillance of locations associated with Bush...recorded videos of the front access gate and the surrounding area leading into the neighborhood of Bush’s home...met with others in a hotel room to look at sample firearms and law enforcement uniforms...required the use of burner phones, encrypted communication applications and code names as plans evolved. Dang dude. "Your mission should you accept it" indeed. Yet despite all that craftiness the Fuds got him anyway? I think he fell off the Allah Wagon and ran his mouth in a bar.

I see the problem here. It's a case of mistaken identity.
"Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, 53, was sentenced in federal court"
Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab was mixed up with his nearly identical cousin (you know that cousin-marriage thingie) Shihab Shihab Achmed Shihab Shihab.
Simple mistake. Anyone coulda made it.
