The post-WW2 “American Dream” was delusional nonsense that only existed because the U.S. was the only industrial power to emerge from the war with its infrastructure and industrial capacity unscathed by the war.

The 1960s were the period when reality started to set in.

No that is not correct. All the countires of western europe had tremendous growth after WW2.

In france it was called Trente Glorieuses or Les Trente Annees D’Or. (thirty golden years)
