WASHINGTON — In his State of the Union speech this week, President Joe Biden will pose a question that he hopes will answer itself: Whose side are you on?
Are Americans, as he’ll frame it, on the side of lower health care costs, democratic freedoms and Ukraine’s fight to keep itself from being swallowed up by Russia? Or on the side of drug company profits, tax breaks for the wealthy and Russia’s autocratic leader Vladimir Putin?
Baked into the argument that Biden will lay out Thursday night is that he’s on the right side of all these issues and that voters should unite behind him.
Perhaps Biden’s most urgent mission is simply to reassure a skeptical nation that he’s up to the rigors of the job.
A crisp performance will go a long way toward demonstrating Biden’s fitness and acuity at age 81. By the same token, should he trip while walking to the rostrum in the House chamber, or lose his place on the teleprompter and stare blankly at the screen, he risks a viral moment that would be tough to overcome.
“The speech is a high-wire act — and this for a president whose footing hasn’t been so certain,” said Jeff Shesol, deputy chief speechwriter in the Clinton White House. “For many observers, the point of the exercise is to see whether he stumbles. It’s not so much what he says, but the manner in which he says it.”

very difficult to believe NBC is publishing something like that ... either the worm has turned, or NBC is deliberately promoting low expectations because biden handlers have assured them that they’ve doped biden with some kind of supercalifragilisticexpialidocious stimulant ...
He’ll never have a larger audience watching.
That may be, but I won’t be one of them. I can’t stand to see or hear him speak. I will read the excerpts of what he says, because I can filter out his idiocy that way.
This speech will get the most glowing reviews you can imagine no matter what is said or how it is delivered. “Saw a President very much in command and control” “Silenced his critics”, “Really showed the American people what was at stake”, etc.
Juggle demands that he has to placate Hamas and the Israelis.

What it will be interesting to see is who Deep State trusts enough to attend this bleep show...
Anyone who shows up should be considered suspect.
And then again Deep State could be setting up the POTATUS in order to get its pet Congress to do its dirty work for them and replace the POTATUS with a new stooge.

There's a part of me that hopes he does okay with this speech. Here's why: If he does well, or even just okay, the Democrats will then say that this puts to rest questions about his mental fitness for office, and continue to promote him as their nominee for 2024. If he has a major public meltdown, I want it to occur during his acceptance speech at the Democrat Convention this summer. Think about it: The night before, the Dems will annoint him as their nominee, patting themselves on the back and high-fiving each other. The following night, Biden goes on live TV before the entire nation, and leaves no doubt he is not mentally fit for office. Imagine the look on everyone's face in that convention hall as they think to themselves "Oh crap! What did we just do?" How do they turn around and pull him from the ticket at that point?
He’s at Camp David now practicing reading his speech with his handlers in charge of content.
He can still read. Not that great with the mumbling and syntax errors, but he can still read aloud. A fifth grader can also read this speech with the hours of practice that Biden is currently doing at Camp David.
