Good points. I am cautiously optimistic about his chances. I think being a former Dodger great is going to pull some of those voters you described as well. He should be wearing a Dodger cap at every appearance.

As if they’re not dominant enough, the jungle primary was a rat ruse to ensure that republicans don’t even make it onto the general election ballot. And the knee jerk voters fell for it. Even with the split rat vote, it’s quite an accomplishment for Garvey to win the primary. When I project his chances as 20% that may sound like little, but for a Republican on a statewide ballot, that’s about as high as I’d peg anyone at this point in the election season
