Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed a motion to oust Speaker Mike Johnson, three sources with knowledge of the move told NBC News, doing so just as the House voted to avoid a government shutdown.

Johnson, R-La., has served as speaker for five months, having taken over for Kevin McCarthy who was ousted from the top job under a similar process.

Smoke and mirrors.

It was not immediately clear how the House would act on her motion, which requires just a majority vote to remove the speaker. Greene, R-Ga., did not file the motion as privileged — which would force a vote within two legislative days — but instead as a regular motion, which could be referred to a committee, where it would likely languish.

This should’ve been done before they passed the bill! Don’t you think the horse is out of the barn already? You threaten him before he takes that next step to compromise with the rats! You have no idea how extremely pissed off I am! I guarantee you there’s billions and billions of dollars allocated for the criminal invaders for housing, healthcare, food stamps the works, …while our veterans, homeless and the black community are suffering they get diddly squat!

You have Republicans talking about raising the retirement age of Social Security and putting forth motions to oust the Speaker for the second nothing screams chaos more than Republicans fighting over who can pull defeat out of the jaws of victory faster, next thing you know a Republican might propose segregating schools again

Johnson is a very weak man with soft principles.

It’s symbolic, which is irritating, but given the self induced razor thin majority it would be foolish to actually make this move. Plus Johnson is just weak, not complicit like McCarthy. The last go round showed no one better will get the votes for speaker.

“You have Republicans talking about raising the retirement age of Social Security...”

Could you supply some names, other than Nikki Haley?

He stated when he was given the job that God governs the affairs of nations. So he obviously believes that God put McConnell and Schuemer in their positions, so he can’t oppose them.

No, he’s another POS spineless radical communist, disguised as a conservative Christian Republican. What part don’t you all understand? Any person that calls themselves a Christian in the DC swamp does it only for appearance and votes. This guy is satanic when you vote along the lines with the demonic rats to inflict life changing surgeries on children, paid by the taxpayers …that to me is unforgivable! And God knows what else is in that bill. I wouldn’t doubt if funding for Planned Parenthood to chop off the heads of newborn babies too! If Johnson ever crosses my path, God forgive me, but I will spit in his face! Effing Judas!

Johnson has done almost everything wrong. Bills should not pass prior to the election.

MTG is one of the few members of Congress standing up for the American people. And who is true to her constituents.

“”next thing you know a Republican might propose segregating schools again””

The way things are going in unsegregated schools, that might not be a bad idea. When was the last time we saw a report of a white student beating up a black one? Putting one in the hospital and one who remains in a coma? Now we’re told the black one was an honor student - spoke 3 languages - and she was the “bullied” one. Take a look at the size of that honor student and the girl who was put in the hospital. WHO would bully that? Only someone the size of a NFL football player or world wrestler.
