“The rise of ISIS was useful for Russia, which could imagine no better destination for its domestic jihadists than a faraway conflict with a conveniently high mortality rate. “

After viciously annoying the Muslims in Chechnia, Putin proceeded to bother the Muslims in Crimea and their friends in Turkey. As if that plus the previous Syrian events were not enough, Putin then advanced the program of mostly enlisting troops to fight in Ukraine who were not from the core Russian areas around Moscow and St. Petersburg. Now he is using many of them to perform the conveniently mortal “meat waves” which probably kill a high number of soldier of Muslim heritage, relative to those of Orthodox background.

gleeaikin: "Putin then advanced the program of mostly enlisting troops to fight in Ukraine who were not from the core Russian areas around Moscow and St. Petersburg."

Russia's total population is circa 145 million, of whom around 100 million are Russian-Russians and the remainder are dozens of different ethnicities, and of them, most are Muslims.
This means that non-Russian Russians number about the same as Ukrainians, suggesting that Vlad the Invader could conceivably fight his War in Ukraine to the last non-Russian, without ever inconveniencing, or threatening, his Russian-Russian political base.

Unless... unless... non-Russian Russians somehow figured out that their interests were not being served by the Russians' government in Moscow.

What are the chances of that?

What happened at Moscow's Crocus City Hall?
