TORZHOK, Russia (Sputnik) - Statements about alleged plans of Russia to attack Europe after Ukraine are nonsense, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
During a working visit to the Russian town of Torzhok in the Tver Region on Wednesday, Putin met with military pilots.
"What is being said that we are going to attack Europe after Ukraine - it is utter nonsense and intimidation of own population just to beat the money out of them, out of their people. Especially against the backdrop of the fact that the economy is shrinking and living standards are falling. It is obvious, and everyone recognizes it," Putin told pilots.
The president added that satellites of the United States are "afraid of big and strong Russia," but they do it for nothing as Russia has "no aggressive intentions against these states."
"This is utter nonsense - the possibility of attacking some other countries, Poland, the Baltic States, the Czechs are being frightened. It is just nonsense and another way to deceive their population and to extract additional expenses from people, to make them bear this burden on their shoulders, and that is it," Putin said.
Russian president stressed that he has no doubt that the Russian Armed Forces will fulfill their assigned tasks. The head of state had a conversation with military pilots during the working trip. One of the pilots told Putin the Russian Armed Forces would fulfill any assigned task.
“On behalf of all servicemen, let me express my deepest gratitude and respect to you and reassure you that you can count on the personnel of the Armed Forces. We will fulfill any task you set, we will not let you down,” the pilot said.
“I have no doubt,” Putin replied.

The Russian Defense Minister has reportedly blamed the Ukrainians, Americans, and British for the attack on.the concert. Putin intensified bombing attacks on Kiev and infrastructure targets. That punishes Ukraine. The West would like him to attack Poland, Finland or the Baltic states. However, the Russians did not blame Poland. The other culprits are the Anglosphere nations.
I don't know whether the takedown of the Key Bridge was an accident or sabotage. I don't know that if it was sabotage, the Russians or the Chinese would be able to direct a cargo ship. But if that capacity exists and it could be done by Moscow or Beijing, it would be a warning shot to Biden, Blinken, etc., that Russia has the capacity to seriously damage American infrastructure. If something equally bad happens to Britain, that would strengthen the case of Russian retaliation.
I think that has always been a goal of groups that develop weapons, going back centuries.
Real interesting to see Ukrainians attaching claymore mines and bombs to drones, and using them with great effect against motorized armored vehicles and ground troops. One video I saw, had Russian soldiers running around an armored vehicle while trying to flee from a drone chasing them, round and round, but killed when the claymore mine detonated during the chase. Imagine how effective they will be with AI rather than remote human operators.
