The Chinese in Korea would probe all along the mainline of defense looking for a weakness and when they found what they wanted would hit it with overwhelming force breaching the line and spreading out. We always had a division in reserve to counter and drive them back. I hate defensive wars, they are usually political. Korea was dictated by the UN who wanted to hold at the 38th parallel.
