People wth identity dysphoria do deserve sympathy and compassion and something they get too little of lately - honesty. Our sympathy, compassion and honesty tells us the best “gender affirming care” for them is professional mental health care to help them get to the point where they gratefully embrace their biological gender and discard the errant obession that has disrupted their life. That is our true love for them and that is not hate.
