Appearing on CNN's ‘State of the Union’ with host Dana Bash, Gonzales discussed the recent passage of the multi-billion foreign aid package and the possibility that Speaker of the House Mike Johnson may be removed from office.
Rather than taking a diplomatic tone in favor of party unity, the Texas Congressman unloaded on Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Bob Good (R-VI), making various spurious allegations about their political and private lives.
Here is a transcript of the exchange:
BASH: So, you voted yes on the foreign aid package. Do you have confidence that at this point, given that it is still possible that Marjorie Taylor Greene will push to vacate, to kick out of the Speaker's chair, that he can survive?
GONZALES: He will survive. Look, the House is a rough and rowdy place, but Mike Johnson is gonna be just fine. I served 20 years in the military. It's my absolute honor to be in Congress, but I serve with some real scumbags. Matt Gaetz, he paid minors to have sex with him at drug parties. Bob Good endorsed my opponent, a known neo-Nazi.
These people used to walk around with white hoods at night. Now they're walking around with white hoods in the daytime. Look, it didn't surprise me that some of these folks voted against aid to Israel, but I was encouraged to see by a nearly 10-to-1 mark that Republicans supported our allies on the battlefield.
As you can see from the final exchange, even Bash was shocked by Gonzales's remarks.

Listening to the RPOTUS/John Fredericks interview, now.
John is so thankful to receive Pres Trump’s valuable endorsement, for John’s PA run.
RPOTUS commented on Venezuela’s bragging about crime being down 67% ... Pres Trump explains that this is due to their sending US all of their prisoners and bad guys.
On the Uke/Spending Bill ... his attitude is that Europe should help us pay for this war ... it’s being funded, by us. Horrible situation.
Then, goes on to talk about Taiwan ... how we’re giving them money, as well.
And, he said ... make the money as a form of a loan ... and, to a certain extent, they certainly have done that. (🤔)
It’s a very sad thing to see. ... mentions Europe should be paying/helping pay for this, and, they’re not. We were paying for THEIR military ... and, we stopped that.
MAGA base upset w/Johnson.... you’re standing w/him ... we’ve got three Congressmen calling for his ouster ... how do you square this out?
Pres Trump: Well, you know, we have a very slim majority ... of ONE! It’s not like he can go and do whatever he wants to do ... I think he’s a very good person ...
He stood very strongly w/me on NATO, and, that NATO has to pay up.
He also got some of the money, in the form of a loan....quite a bit. It’s a tough situation when you have majority of one.
We need a big election ... we have to have a big day ... replace bad Senators, like Romney ... we have to win the Presidency ... if we don’t we will lose our country.
Pres Trump warned that Biden would get us into a war ... and, he was right!
Asked if he’s concerned about Iran having nuclear weapons ... he said it’s a MAJOR concern....and, Had the election not been rigged ... Iran, and, us ... we would’ve had a deal, already. Everyone would’ve been happy. They wanted to make a deal. With NO nuclear weapons ... and, they’re very close to having them, thanks to Biden. Iran was broke ...
Can’t say what he’ll do, once President, with Iran, if they manage to get nukes, before he’s elected.
Reviews all of the things he did for Israel, the ME, while President. Will be harder to make a deal, since they’re rich, now.
Has asked Briben to debate ... they haven’t responded. He’s not a fan of the Commission ... they turned off his mic, during debate w/Hillary....he thinks debating is important ... with drug testing, for both.
