Mica referred to Maureen Dowd’s opinion piece suggesting that Trump is our hell on earth, a tyrant. She referred to his Good Friday TS video “God made Trump” which can be seen at https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/111703421569603715 .

Theyr’e especially reacting to the part where it says that God needed somebody to shepherd the people.

I wonder if Matthews has any idea that pastors are called “under-shepherds”, or that Jesus is specifically called the GOOD Shepherd, not the only shepherd.

Matthews claiming that Trump called himself God is libel, plain and simple. He should be sued to Hell and back.

The video that Trump posted on Truth Social was made by the Dilley team and is almost verbatim from Paul Harvey’s speech “So God Made a Farmer”, which can be heard at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWjUT1RjNdQ

In parables Jesus refers to God as a farmer, just as He refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd. Does that mean that anybody who claims to be a farmer is claiming to be God, Chris Matthews?

This tripe to libel Trump is pathetic.

The whole point is that even though we may not like tough guys, we NEED them. God knows that, and His gift is to provide us the characters we need for the time we need it. It’s sort of like God creating Hadassah/Esther so beautiful at a time when His people needed somebody who could win over King Xerxes. It’s like God speaking through a donkey. It’s like God using the Moses who couldn’t even speak publicly so that the power would be known as coming from God.

There’s a whole biblical concept here that Chris, Mica, and Maureen seem totally ignorant of, like it’s not in their basic worldview. Almost like they don’t understand either Judaism or Christianity.

They fight Trump because he’s made of different stuff than almost everybody else in this world. They can’t own or control him. Why is that? Maybe God shaped him “for such a time as this”. That would be to God’s glory, not Trump’s - just as anyone’s faith in God is God’s gift so that noone (you listening, Mike Pence?) can boast. God gets all the credit for all of it.

These people don’t seem to comprehend that concept. Sad.

Chris Matthews said Monday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe":
"This presidential candidate, Donald Trump, is saying,
'I am the shepherd. I'm him. I'm God.'"

That is a mighty big promotion over what is in the Truth Social video [02:44:00], quote:

"God said, 'I need a caretaker.'" [00:13:00]

"So God gave us Trump." [00:14:45]

"God said, 'I need somebody willing to get up before dawn.'" [00:16:00]

"'Fix this country.'" [00:20:00]

"'Work all day.'" [00:21:30]

"'Fight the marxists.'" [00:23:00]

"'Eat supper.'" [00:24:00]

"'Then go to the oval office'" [00:25:00]

"'and stay past midnight'" [00:27:00]

"'at a meeting of the heads of state.'" [00:28:00]

"So God made Trump." [00:30:00]

The Trump ad is a bold claim that his mission is a mission from God. It reminds me of Rush Limbaugh’s assertion that his talent was “on loan from God”. But that’s a funny way of saying something that is true of all of us. These are not claims of deity but acknowledgments that we serve a Creator and are not Him. We are the created. The ad repeatedly said, “God made Trump.” The context is that Trump has a special purpose.
