On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby stated that while you can’t equate Israel’s actions to Hamas launching the October 7 attack, “it’s difficult to say” how close Israel is to becoming indistinguishable from Hamas.
Host Wolf Blitzer asked, “You heard Secretary Blinken earlier today, suggest — he warned that there’s a real risk the way Israel is waging its war in Gaza right now is making it indistinguishable from Hamas. How close is Israel to that point?”

At its inception, Hamas was a political organization. The Israeli’s briefly viewed it in a positive light, seeing it as a potential check on the power of the PLO. But they soon distanced themselves from the organization, when it became clear that it was morphing into the radical militant organization that we know today. C210N is either ignorant of the history or is deliberately trying to mislead people.
Nonsense. Hamas branched off of the Muslim Brotherhood decades ago, and took power in Gaza after Israel withdrew in 2005 - winning elections there and then massacring their Fatah (Arafat/Abbas faction) rivals.
It is true, however, that Netanyahu and others stupidly played Hamas and Fatah against each other so they wouldn't unify, and they also believed that if they handed out 20,000 work permits to Gazans and allowed Qatar "aid" ($$$) to be delivered to Hamas, that it wiould "moderate" them. What happened instead is that those with work permits spied on their employers - even families with children - drew maps of their homes and bedrooms, so Hamas could precisely target them for death on October 7th. But no, Israel did not "create" Hamas.
This is all about two states: Michigan and New Jersey.
Actually New Jersey has a higher Arab population than Minnesota. You have the right idea.
