US troops in Moldova in emerging Plan B for Ukraine
Asia Times ^ | 4/5/24 | Stephen Bryen

Big trouble may be brewing in little Moldova, which is starting to look like a staging area for the European Union to offset an emerging Russian victory in Ukraine. Whether such a plan, if attempted, would succeed is not clear. But Moldova is not the most stable country in the world with the nation split between pro-EU and pro-Russian elements.

US troops are now in Moldova with Romanians, ostensibly for a military exercise called JCET 2024 (Joint Command Exchange Training). The exercise started on April 1 and will continue until April 19.

No. I’m saying that he used old equipment because they were losses anyway. They are paid for, so they are no loss when they are destroyed.

Zelensky was using the power of government to oppress Russian ethnics in his country and the world told Putin that they didn’t care if the Russians in Ukraine were genocided.

What would you expect him to do, allow his people to be genocided or come to their defense?

Our side was happy to allow to happen to Russian ethnics what we are supposedly horrified by what Hitler was doing to the Jews. Why is extinguishing Russian ethnics ok with you?

Russia may not have the most advanced technology in the world, but they have all the raw materials for anything they need.

Can you tell me what Russia lacks, when it’s country crosses 14 time zones?

The ability to make drones.

Apparently, the ability to make replacements for wornout artillery gun barrels. The ability to replace the lost the Scooby do vans to distribute supplies to troops freezing in trenches.

Nuclear submarines, air craft carriers

What they don’t know they will learn.

Do they need nuclear submarines for a war in Ukraine?
Or air craft carriers?

Russia knows it can’t beat the world. That is why, push come to shove, it keeps the Samson option on standby.

I’m sure they can replace artillery gun barrels just fine.

The war is a quagmire for Russia and a tragedy for Ukraine.

The Russians in Ukraine weren’t happy about the Russian invasion. Most of the Azov were ethnic Russians.

What Russia does have are Freeper War Criminal aiders and abettors that have unwittingly become Hamas terror supporters.

I think there was more support for joining Russia than you suppose.

But the figure in which we averaged data from all the survey firms summary data hides some big differences. While the Ukrainian and Russian pollsters found similar opinions in areas controlled by the Ukrainian government, in the breakaway area, pollsters calling from Russia found higher support (70 percent) for joining Donbas with Russia than did the pollsters calling from Ukraine (16 percent). (Some respondents may have decided whether to answer the call or participate in the survey according to whether it originated in Kyiv or Moscow, or may have replied with answers that they thought the interviewers wanted to hear.)

Is not the Western leaders support for destroying Russia for their mineral count as a war crime? Do you think the West is innocent in this?

I definitely don’t think the West is the least bit innocent in this little war.

NATO holding military exercises on the fringes of the Russian Federation is kabuki theater designed to project a strength/unity that doesn’t exist, while the taxpayers foot the bill.

Gotta wonder how the high command in Ukraine views all this useless posturing.

The fact you use the word innocent is proof of your ignorance and naivete

The fact that you seem to deny the real intents of the west shows your ignorance. I can acknowledge that Putin is a bad man, but his removal and break-up of Russia would be done be even more bad people. Yes, those leading the call to war against Russia are more bad than Putin.

But you don’t recognize that.
