Sounds like self defense. He hit her. Why would anyone return to the scene after being shot at? Maybe he went to retrieve his own gun.?

Arkansas needs a sheriff with balls, like over in Fl. There, the sheriff held a press conference wherein he stated that they sponsor weekly gun training, especially helping out on aiming properly. He said this was helpful since it made it easier to kill home invaders and save the county money.
There have been no home invasions in the year since that conference.
