That’s not the way the justice system works these days.
The way police and therefore “justice” works is that they don’t care about right or wrong, who is in danger...nothing. They just want the incident, and in this case anyone who might use this as a model for handling a similar situation, to STOP. Therefore, they’ll throw the book at the sane person. That’s because they can control what sane people do, but they can’t control what crazy aggressive people do. So, to make this and all future similar episodes do not escalate they’ll throw the book at the sane person. The crazy will skate.
Sometimes if you elect a republican sheriff and prosecutor, this doesn’t happen.
