The public has been repulsed by the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza, incoming Taoiseach (prime minister) Simon Harris has said.

Mr. Harris said that Ireland stands ready to recognize the Palestinian state while calling for a two-state solution.

In his keynote speech at the Fine Gael Ard Fheis* in Galway, the Fine Gael leader said the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened “before our eyes” and Ireland cannot stay silent on the actions of Israel.

“We condemn the massacre carried out by Hamas in October and again call for the release of all hostages,” Mr Harris said. “But we cannot stay silent on the actions of Israel either. Reason has been replaced by revenge and by the bombing, maiming and death of children.”

Mr. Harris criticized the Israeli government for the lack of aid being allowed to enter Gaza, describing it as a famine. …

The Cork Examiner was typically further left than other Irish papers, so writing deceptive headlines is just de rigueur for them.

That’s funny. I thought the Irish public was repulsed by moslems attacking Irish women and children and ‘newcomers’ to Ireland getting free housing. I guess I was misinformed.

When politicians like Harris claim they are speaking for “the public”, they really mean their EU masters.

YES, and thank you.

We would have thought that people, especially those who have managed to rise to the top, would demonstrate at least a little intelligence and knowledge of history not to be duped by communist/IslamoNazi/oranyother kind of Big Lie propaganda.

You’d think.
I personally am forming the opinion that some of these antisemitic leftists are indeed just plain antisemites and that they are NOT being duped by anyone. They are going after the Jews and Christian believers because they’re commies/Nazis/”progressives” and attacking people of faith who uphold Western societal values is a big part of the “progressive” power-seeking agenda. In short, I think many of these people knowing and intentionally spew the far-leftist Party Line ... and aren’t doing it because they’re mental retards who just happened to get the wool pulled over their eyes. It being that they suffer from a moral/ethical deficit more than any lack of intelligence/knowledge.

They’re culpable, not innocent Useful Idiots of the enemies of western society, imho

There is plenty of real estate on the african continent for
a "palestine nation".

Thousands of acres of desert land to choose from.

Wow. I just looked it up. That Irish ‘Che Guevara’ postage stamp is real. They might as well issue a stamp honoring Himmler while they’re at it.

Below is my favorite Che Guevara quote, as it says everything one needs to know about this monster.

“To execute a man we don’t need proof of his guilt. We only need proof that it’s necessary to execute him. It’s that simple.”

Odd how none of their Arab ‘brothers’ seem to be willing to offer them any land at all. Perhaps they know something...

Did they now? Was it they agreed with Hitlers ideology or was it because they wanted to agree with anything anti English?

“Ireland sided with Hitler.”

No so. After hundreds of years of occupation and oppression by the Brits, who could have blamed them? But they were neutral.

“The policy of neutrality was adopted by Ireland’s Oireachtas at the instigation of the Taoiseach Éamon de Valera upon the outbreak of World War II in Europe. It was maintained throughout the conflict, in spite of several German air raids by aircraft that missed their intended British targets, and attacks on Ireland’s shipping fleet by Allies and Axis alike. Possibilities of both German and British invasions were discussed in the Dáil. Both eventualities were prepared for, although most detailed preparations were done with the Allies under Plan W. De Valera’s ruling party, Fianna Fáil, supported his neutral policy for the duration of the war.”

Ireland won’t be fit to even visit soon. With their government allowing all the foreigners and extreme leftist ideology. It is a shame.

I’m 53% Irish so I can say this: why did it take 200 yrs for the Irish to throw off the yoke of the British occupiers? Their country is now being invaded by Muslims so the govt is caving once again to the aggressors. He could have just kept his mouth shut, FFS!

Yeah; their “neutrality” was complete garbage, just as it is today; their defense forces are all over the world defending communism, particularly in Africa. Certainly, de Valera was not neutral in offering his condolences over the reports of Adolf’s demise.

Their “republic” lasted from 04/18/1949 to 01/01/1972—a mere 22 years and eight months. This is what replaced it:
The State may become a member of the European Coal and Steel Community (established by Treaty signed at Paris on the 18th day of April, 1951), the European Economic Community (established by Treaty signed at Rome on the 25th day of March, 1957) and the European Atomic Energy Community (established by Treaty signed at Rome on the 25th day of March, 1957).

No provision of this Constitution invalidates laws enacted, acts done or measures adopted by the State necessitated by the obligations of membership of the Communities—or prevents laws enacted, acts done or measures adopted by the Communities, or institutions thereof, from having the force of law in the State.
That is the Third Amendment to the Constitution of Ireland, ratified by referendum in 1971. Notice the part about where Ireland completely surrenders its sovereignty?

Fast-forward to 2021, where then-prime minister Micheál Martin kowtows to his foreign masters:
“Let there be no doubt about where Ireland stands: We want nothing to do with a backward-looking idea of sovereignty. We remain absolutely committed to the ideals of the European Union.”
Does that look like what Irish people fought for in 1916?

The British weren’t “occupiers” per se, unless you count the Papacy as an occupier. It was Pope Adrian IV and Pope Alexander II that confirmed England’s Henry II as “Lord of Ireland”, particularly subsequent to the Norman invasion and the political restructuring initiated by Richard “Strongbow” DeClare.

The notion of “occupation” was actually promulgated by the communists in the Irish Republican Brotherhood; before 1916, the majority of Irish wanted only home rule, i.e. their own parliament back, while continuing to have the English king as sovereign—and the irony of that is the Free State gave them all of that.

Let the Irish fall prey to Sharia Islamic law and when the ban Guinness Extra Stout maybe then they will wake up. For now the appeasers are asleep.
