Justice Department Uncovers 'Inconsistencies' in Fani Willis's Use of Federal Grant Funds

President Joe Biden’s Justice Department has uncovered "inconsistencies" in Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis’s use of federal grant funds, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

The bombshell discovery comes two years after Willis fired a whistleblower who had warned the district attorney that her office was attempting to misuse a $488,000 federal grant to pay for "swag," computers, and travel. It’s that same grant that the Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs now says is plagued with reporting discrepancies from Willis’s office, errors that federal authorities only disclosed to the Free Beacon after providing contradictory statements regarding awards Willis’s office may have made under the grant.

"During our review of the award to respond to this inquiry, we have noticed some inconsistencies in what Fulton County has reported to [the Federal Subaward Reporting System] and we are working with them to update their reporting accordingly," a Justice Department spokeswoman told the Free Beacon on Friday.

We need to shrink the GD government by 75%

When we can blow a trillion over bad public covid policy without batting an eye, you know the government has too much money.

So the DOJ is just stepping in front of this to initiate an “investigation” before GA House and Senate catch wind and start looking into it themselves.

How come when caught red-handed, SOME PEOPLE get a do-over? The whistle-blower already provided evidence of deliberate malfeasance, waste, and diversion of funds.

The Just-Us Department now regards bankrobbery and leftist rioters destroying buildings as “inconsistencies”

Federal Grants are big business. Takes a knowledgeable individual to even apply for one. Federal Grant writers are in demand everywhere from Universities to individual cities. The kink in it is that someone has to administer the Grant when they get it, collect data on what it is being used for, by whom, where the money actually goes, etc. The Federal Government is supposed keep track of all of this but like any other BS government program, the devil is in the details. Chances are the “whistleblower” was the person responsible FOR administering the Grant and she blew it off and got rid of them when they told her she could not just TAKE the Federal money and do with it what she pleased. She needs to be in JAIL.

Well, as long as it is just “inconsistencies,” I don’t see a problem here . . .

OK, they’ve been “uncovered”, now what are you going to DO about it?

Won’t get to that point. They will use the “can’t discuss it because of an ongoing investigation” for 7 years.

I’ve been retired from an IT university job for close to a decade. The business office had to catch errors related to charging wrong accounts. It wasn’t frequent but happened on occasion. A $200 charge to the wrong account wasn’t going to trigger a review. A $5K charge would bring both the business office and academic heads of the department into the mix for review and approval.

Won’t matter. The DA will have an opportunity to reconcile the “inconsistencies” by moving other grant money around.

I worked as a “Certified Forensic Examiner” for about 10 years in the 90’s and early part of this century. It’s usually pretty easy to identify intentional fraud when going through the books of a public organization.

There are no inconsistencies. The law is whatever Fani Willis says it is.

I’m going out on a limb and guess that in your experience the guiltiest scoundrels screamed the loudest when caught.

With Willis under the national microscope by her own doing, the auditors can’t let her by completely. I have a feeling that we are going to be hearing a lot about racism. Hopefully, exposing financial crime in her own organization will end her.

Exactly. I would love to see a financial audit of the Fulton County DA’s office.

If she used it to buy votes or prosecute President Trump, she’s in the clear.
