New York Judge Threatens Trump With Jail Time During First Day In Court - 'Election Interference' by: Sterling Mosley 04.15.2024
On Monday, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump traveled to New York City for the first day of his criminal trial in the hush money case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D). The defense and prosecution will begin to decide who will serve on the 12-man jury that will decide the 45th president's fate. During the hearing, Trump, who has repeatedly railed against the case as political persecution, was threatened by presiding Justice Juan Merchan that he would face jail time if he were to interrupt court proceedings or if he failed to appear while the trial was taking place.
During the hearing, Judge Merchan explained to the former president that he would be arrested if he did not appear at every hearing in the criminal trial in the coming months, a move that many conservative commentators claim is election interference. "If you do not show up, there will be an arrest," Merchan said. The trial is expected to take place over the next couple of months, perhaps even lasting until June.

Does the State of NY have legal authority to arrest a former President? Will the Secret Service let a former President be taken to an unsafe prison environment? You know if Trump goes to prison he will be Epstein-ed!

The case has to be finished before you can appeal the judgement.
Meanwhile, it’s standard for a lawyer to be there to “represent” the defendant for much of a trial without the defendant having to be there but I don’t know if it’s written in law.

In fact, I doubt the State of New York “could” arrest a former President protected by the Secret Service.
For off there is a dirty little secret about the current corrupt US justice system. Trump does not have standing to sue unless they actually put him in jail.
I wish there were millions of people there protesting, rioting, causing all kinds of problems for this entire trial. But I guess unlike the left, people on the right have actual jobs they need to be at.
That’s what I’ve been asking. This is how corruption is handled when it comes to justice? It’s ignored? I assume it’s because of Merrick Garland. Above all else the Republican party can absolutely go to hell because they are not lifting one tiny finger to help Trump out. Trump has been harassed more than any politician has ever been harassed for 8 long years, and they’ve done NOTHING to stop this!
No parent should be robbed of that!
Unless 12 NY jurors hate Trump and will convict him of anything.
