Unless it’s a manufacturing defect, then the maker is responsible.

I agree: it’s quite obvious that most airlines seem to be skimping on maintenance. It’s also not often noted that many airlines have setup maintenance operations outside the US to get cheap labor and avoid scrutiny.

Weight and balance.

Uh, huh.

Two body positivity (sp?) porkers demand two-four seats each on the same side of the plane. New software says OK. When leaving the gate the tires on that side blow out.

Yeah, that is a software issue.

You got it correct! It always amazes me how smart some Freepers are.

Unless you are the person that screwed the software up! ;)

Yes, I think there is more to it.

“May be shifting blame from Boeing to Alaska Airlines. I suspect Boeing pays Federal officials better.”

If it’s Boeing, wouldn’t there be similar incidents occurring outside of the US?
If the incidents are occurring only in the US wouldn’t that indicate maintenance or training issues?

True. Its more likely a maintenance issue.

But any maintenance problems are compounded by lack of quality manufacturing.

It's really another black eye for the FAA, which seems to be failing at monitoring both manufacturing and maintenance.
