Israel has reportedly deployed extra artillery and armoured personnel carriers to the Gaza Strip periphery, suggesting that the military is preparing for its long-threatened ground offensive on Rafah, the only place of relative safety for at least 1.4 million displaced Palestinian civilians.
Israeli daily Ma’ariv also said on Wednesday that troops had been put on alert and “the governing principle of the operation” had been approved by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) general staff and Yoav Gallant, the defence minister. The IDF declined to comment on the reports.
The IDF confirmed on Tuesday it was buying 40,000 tents to prepare for the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians who have sought shelter in Rafah, the southernmost town in the Gaza Strip, which is only major urban area in the territory that Israeli ground forces have not yet entered.

the socalled civilians are welcome in any of several declared “safe zones” (or they could demand to return to Egypt at any time they wish, just pay for the “ticket” (the Arabs have set up what looks like a travel agency but some would brand an ‘extortion racket’ — at any event it is open for business to all comers)
Israel is not keeping any “civilians” in the war that the Fakestinian Hamas terrorists created .

Israel should not talk about, advertise, or ask permission from Biden to go into Rafah. They should go in first, announce the operation after it has started second, and finish off Hamas. Then talk about it later, mostly to say to everyone who protests thank you for your opinion.

On a slightly different subject, the longer Israel waits to hit Iran for last Saturday, it becomes more unlikely they’ll do anything about that.

Why wouldn’t northern Gaza be safe for actual “civilian” Gazans?
