Details are sparse at the moment as the retaliatory attacks are ongoing, but unconfirmed reports are that the explosions are occurring around the areas where Iran's nuclear facilities are located. That would make sense as the brazenness of the Mullah's attack would require ensuring they never get nuclear weapons. I suggested as much in a write-up several days prior.

I wonder if “simultaneous explosions” in Iraq and Syria would be supersonic aircraft flying over and breaking the sound barrier. It would be heard at almost same times in major cities if it occurred between them.
I found good visible satellite imagery covering Iran and I don’t see any obvious signs of explosions, skies are quite clear all over the country today and the only bright returns are from snow-covered mountains. You would not necessarily see any signs of a smaller explosion on that scale, but something on the scale of an atomic mushroom cloud would certainly be quite obvious and if it were stationary you could rule out isolated thunderstorm activity which would look about the same (but would likely drift southeast).
