If you read the Gospels and Acts, you'll see that Christ's message was deeply offensive, provocative, and divisive among the Jews of His day. And later among the gentiles.

The Christian message remains deeply offensive, provocative, and divisive among people -- both Jews and gentiles -- to this day.

It's hard to avoid that without diluting Christ's message, turning into some universalist, feel-good pablum, so that no one is offended.
