Another US precision-guided weapon falls prey to Russian electronic warfare, US says

U.S.-provided precision-guided munitions have failed in mission after mission in Ukraine, taken down by Russian electronic warfare. On Wednesday, the Pentagon revealed the latest casualty.

A new ground-launched version of an air-to-ground weapon developed for Ukraine on a rapid timeline failed to hit targets in part because of Russian electro-magnetic warfare, Bill LaPlante, the Pentagon's acquisition chief, said at an event held by think tank CSIS.

LaPlante suggested that Ukraine may no longer be interested in the weapon. “When you send something to people in the fight of their lives that just doesn’t work, they’ll try it three times and they’ll just throw it aside,” said LaPlante.

That may have been true in the past Canadian. Not anymore. the US has become as feckless and ignorant as that marxist hellhole you live.

We quit making superior things when we started destroying our country in favor of a world government. DEI is no way to manufacture quality.

Ignorant braggadocio unaccompanied by proof on the ground means nothing.

Russia has cleaned our proxy war clock in Ukraine.

Biden regime is foolish and so are you for supporting their folly.

DEI has ruined quality in America and your nazi trudeauland.

You never know if these reports are real or disinformation.

Agreed. It's much better to blame the enemy instead of admitting the weapon system is flawed or hyped up past its capabilities.

We get very little useful Intel from the Ukraine

Russia was a military disaster pre invasion and their invasion has exposed the true extent of the disaster. They are making the necessary reforms to root out corruption, replace incompetent leaders and execute modernizations

They and have learned how to defeat or front line high tech smart weapons . So has China

Our military is going to bleed in the next war because we of Biden

If this is true, we're in big trouble directly against the Russians. Another taxpayer-funded Defense contractor over-processed failure despite the fake successful testing that got it approved for production.

I've seen this crap testing and verification-by-process/metric/rubric/checklist happen with other agencies' GD and NG (among others) non-Defense deliverables to the USG. Very highly paid Program Managers whose primary job is to invoice as much as possible overwhelming the COR with no accounting skills and ignoring product or personnel quality.

Afghanistan and Iraq were not proper proving grounds for this stuff.

The more recent SDBs have “multi-mode seekers” which means that if the GPS fails, there are other alternatives to hit the target.

I guess we gave then last year’s model.

"As always, superior US technology will come out on top!"

I am an engineer and a GTM. With all due respect, you have no clue how bad and corrupt things are, not to mention the mess DEI is causing, with US Government contracting these days.

I was willing to give the Federal Government, and agencies, the benefit of the doubt regarding truth under the Reagan Administration, however I am not so inclined since then.

“...Russia has cleaned our proxy war clock in Ukraine...”

You are very wrong. First it is not really a proxy war. We are just part of Ukraine’s logistic chain. It is Ukraine’s war as they fight for their survival, their culture, and their freedom.

And it is Russia that has been continuously humiliated. A heavyweight is getting belted all around by a welterweight. The 140 million cannot handle the 40 million. The eleven-time-zone country is getting its troops slaughtered by the one-time-zone country. You Bolshevik stooges do not understand anything about Moscow’s evil intentions and their war crimes in the Donbas and across Ukraine.

Russia has not taken a single metropolitan area since Kherson city was liberated by Ukraine. Russia has achieved only Pyrrhic victories in taking mill towns while Ukraine strike deeps into Russia itself. Look at the state of Moscow’s Black Sea fleet. Ukraine fights bravely and intrepidly. Russia simply foments revolution within its borders by throwing away countless thousands of its slave soldiers.

I dont know the details of SDB’s beyond what I described. Never worked with them personally. But again, originally, they would not be the weapon of choice against a sophisticated electronic adversary.

Just thought sharing. In a not so sophisticated jamming environment, the logic to know that GPS is not available is fairly simple and the INS (inertial nav) could take over. However, in a spoofing environment, the GPS may still think its healthy and never give up control, even though its tricked into a bad solution.

The article -- as source for the "messaging" -- is most interesting.

So who is Morgan Ormsby, whose address is at one of the group of Watergate Complex in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC? ( Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watergate_complex)

A rather interesting photo as part of the LinkedIn page -- with only 18 followers and 19 connections shows a pix oddity worth noting.

Morgan Ormsby

Paste this into your browser for a closer look ---- https://media.licdn.com/dms/image/C4E03AQFD5BPeFMWVIw/profile-displayphoto-shrink_200_200/0/1638381491667?e=2147483647&v=beta&t=v7CcwlfGs1mFPtlEZ3qaGSI5f9dFmOOkHtyxxA-sQN0
Interestingly, the FEC shows a rather recent "disbursement" for the individual:
Morgan Ormsby
800 Maine Ave SW Unit 400
Washington, DC 200242805
05/13/2022
Salary 4716.22

Source: Committee: AB PAC

That list of disbursements includes several for ActBlue, a Democrat election scheme, and one finds of "AB PAC:" And of them, one reads in part, "AB PAC filed an administrative complaint with the FEC in March 2022 against former president Donald J. Trump. The administrative complaint alleged that Mr. Trump violated the Federal Election Campaign Act (the Act) in two discrete ways. First, AB PAC alleged Mr. Trump violated the Act by making expenditures to advance a 2024 presidential bid without filing with the Commission or disclosing those expenditures (the disclosure claim). Second, the complaint alleged that Mr. Trump violated the Act by accepting excessive contributions from his leadership PAC and joint fundraising committee (the excessive contributions claim)."

An AB PAC attacking Trump was dismissed, 17 July 2023.

Working back, the ties between Democrats, anti-Trump activities and the "registrant" for these "media" are linked. Morgan Ormsby.

Now try and find more information about who EXACTLY is Morgan Ormsby. Precious little other information, given his central role in Defense One and its controller, GovernmentExecutive, resident in Washington DC, and with a documented salary from the FEC apparently. Seems very shy of public scrutiny. But the listed address of 600 New Hampshire Ave N.W for this "shy" media individual has been the same since 1996. When Clinton was president.

"Another US precision-guided weapon falls prey to Russian electronic warfare, US says"

"The DOD is trying to tell you it needs more funds." And yet his domains are active in messaging a great deal re:

This is as bad as Clinton giving the Chinese our missile guidance technology.

That was just the warm up. He also gave them, every procedure the US Navy uses, allowed PLAN officers to be on board as tests and exercises where conducted, submarine prop tech, and how to make a hydrogen bomb small enough to put on a ICBM ...

Excerpts:

“The weapon LaPlante is referring to is very likely the [ GPS guided ] Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) based on his description, according to Bryan Clark, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute.”

“the targeting system for the GPS-guided Excalibur round “dropped from 70 percent effectiveness to 6 percent effectiveness over a matter of a few months as new EW mechanisms came out”

“the weapons were largely designed for a period before spoofers were so easy to set up, Clark said. “You didn’t really see the advent of miniaturized, capable GPS spoofers until the last ten years or so, because you needed the micro-electronics to be able to do it,” Clark said. “

ATACMS shot down, but what they hit was the booster, not the separated payload which went on to hit the targets.

“This is not good. One system after another. The Abrams being withdrawn, large numbers of Patriot systems unable to protect themselves, apparently the ATACMS are mostly being shot down as well.”

One of the results of having a bunch of warmed-over Hippies running our government and our military is that they’re simply not capable of understanding that just because the GPS in their car can get them home every day from work, DOES NOT mean it will get their missiles to their targets against an adversary that actually takes missile defense seriously.

Yep, I'm sure the Pentagon wants the entire US population to believe US air defense missiles don't work.

Do you think the Pentagon can effectively squash bad news?

Hell, the Pentagon can't even keep their own troops from posting mishaps on Facebook.

Pretty sure the Pentagon can effectively squash good luck, good planning and straight, American Oriented personnel.
