Trump suggests when he might make VP pick as these four contenders reportedly emerge

Former President Donald Trump has laid out the most concrete timeline yet for when he might select his running mate for the 2024 Republican ticket.

“I’ll be picking, but probably not too much before the convention, which I happen to be having in the great state of Wisconsin,” the presumptive GOP nominee told FOX 6 Milwaukee during a campaign visit to the battleground state Wednesday.

The Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee July 15-18. Traditionally, the vice presidential nominee will address the delegates on the penultimate night of the gathering.

A source familiar with the conversation previously told The Post that biotech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy is almost definitely out of the running for VP, while allies of the former president said South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has “no shot” at the position after she recounted a 20-year-old story about killing her dog.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis also ruled himself out as Trump’s running mate in a February call with donors.

Bloomberg reported Thursday that the former president had narrowed his choices to four top contenders: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Republican Sens. JD Vance of Ohio, Marco Rubio of Florida and Tim Scott of South Carolina.

>>Again, in a debate forum like FR, unsupported subjective opinion doesn’t count for much.

Okay, that’s fine. But if you want to be honest, your decision to believe that Vivek is everything he tells you he is, is unsupported subjective opinion, which doesn’t count for much in my book.

Not sure I said “I believe everything Vivek says” but over time, his statements and stance I found to be consistent enough to believe he means what he says in the face of some pretty fierce opposition.

Nothing is foolproof, but that is better support than a “vibe”.

See ya.

If DeSantis moved to Valdosta, say, he could be in Tallahassee in about 90 minutes.

Don't see Ron DeSantis choosing to live anywhere other than Florida.

Honestly though, he'd be better suited for AG than VP.

FYI, from the article

That sounds like a vibe to me.

*Trump needs someone that he knows will have his back.*

Remember ‘a kinder and gentler’ America? Kinder and gentler than what? I don’t think Trump would let Rubio get away with that like Reagan did with ‘41.

The next Trump administration is going to have to make the Chuckie Schumers wish they were never born. The rat voters will need to be educated and not dismissed.

Admittedly, South Dakota governors tend to have more riveting personal experiences than North Dakota governors. Maybe it’s just a shot in the dark, but that’s how I feel

I was agreeing with your statement (the one that I quoted.) “This” is just slang for I agree with this.

I thank you-I’m old. There’s more.

Does anyone out there think we need to appeal more to the intellect on a constant basis? Think younger voters-the people who need to feel their thought process is being challenged. Rubio could do it but Rand would be better.

Remember history professor Newt giving a speech? People who never went to college were made to think they could have been comfortable as a student in the lecture hall. We don’t do that-too busy defending ourselves.

Who comes up with these choices??????? “Let’s pick the most lackluster, unimaginative people that will bore everybody to death. He’d be smart to pick a choice that has a chance to appeal to the voters he might need to get 50+%.Suburban women would definitely respond well to a woman. Independents would truly appreciate Tulsi Gabbard. I think she would be the smartest choice. Be strategic. Blunt the possibility of losses. Pick someone that would be your advocate, is attractive, smart & could bring in some voters. Don’t do what we always do. For God’s sake, do something interesting!! 😉

Tulsa Gabbard! She’s a former Democrat like Trump that believes the party hS gone nuts, she sounds right on issues, she’s an outsider & she would likely be incredibly helpful with the demographics we need! 😉

Yes, that would be good also.

The man would be important to the Trump Admin.

Are you a woman, because I am quite sure that isn’t how we choose or candidates. We aren’t men. It would be nice to see my fellow conservatives pay attention to conservative women & the candidates they think might be good too! 😉
