I hate to say this, but I suspect that Reno will be tough to beat. It really does come down to repairing the voting system and stopping the illegal overvotes. Until this happens, Florida can expect to have Reno as its governor. The liberals are mad, and will orchestrate a vote scheme that will rock Florida if it's not fixed.

It's gonna be a FREEPATHON!

Jim Davis has a lifetime ACU rating of 15! It is a good thing he did not run for governor. He replaced Sam Gibbons and is just as bad as the old liberal.
To: Brandonmark
But, he said, ``I think I can best serve the people of Florida and my district by representing them in the United States Congress.'' Translation: There are enough Kool-Aid drinkers in my congressional district to keep re-electing me, but I'm not so sure there are enough in the entire state of Floriduh . . .

Give it that she has the most name recognition of the Dems. There are positives that will probably outweigh the negatives:
1) She has the most baggage. The negative campaign against her will be like shooting the broad side of a barn.
2) She also will energize the republican base, with a vengence. She is umbilically tied to the Clintons. After all, she is a clintonista.
3) She lacks sex appeal, literally. Yes, woman will vote for her, but she lacks charisma. JEB on the other hand has some sex appeal and more charisma than El Reno.
4) President Bush can campaign for Jeb and raise a bigger war chest than Reno.
It will not be a slam dunk for JEB, but I believe he will prevail.

Living in Tampa, the prospect of a Davis run for Governor was disconcerting. He is very popular and would have made a formidable challenger. In my opinion Reno is doing our dirty work for us. Her prior national exposure as AG has given her and her followers a false sense security. She will always have a set of hard core loyalists regardless of how she presents herself. However, the swing voters will find themselves becoming increasingly repulsed as she is over exposed by the rigors of state wide campaigning.

After months of deliberation, and at least partly in response to Janet Reno's entry into the race, U.S. Rep. Jim Davis of Tampa said Thursday he will not seek the Democratic nomination for governor in 2002.Two words: FBI FILES

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing.
Even worse than being enemies with these people...is being their friends.

I was hoping he would run so he would be replaced in Congress! After researching him to do the Tax Cuts, he needs to find another line of work! Talk about someone talking out of both sides of their mouth -- he is for the people but against tax cuts for the people! Guess he prefers Government handouts to giving the people back "their" money!
You need a new Congressman!!!!!!

FBI FilesI said essentially the same thing in an email this morning. Believe the clintons are clearing the way for a Reno run for Governor. Jeb is going to need all the help he can get from inside Florida and outside of Florida to combat this clinton campaign. Anyone that doesn't think the clintons are behind this better get their heads examined. You are right on with your analysis IMO!

``The decision not to run is difficult. I have become increasingly distressed about the course Jeb Bush is setting for our state. ... I was sorely tempted,'' Davis said.
--------------------
And, the reason for his "distress" over all the wonderful things our fabulous FL gov has done is -- what?
Why is he so stressed out over a fab FL gov?
Could it be because: the fabulous FL gov's last name happens to be spelled: "B-u-s-h"?
WOW! Now, I'm all stressed out too -- that WAS a tough name to spell!!!!

The more she shakes, the more votes she'll get. Remember, today you win by exploiting people's emotions - not by challenging them to think.
