OMG, I haven't been back to this thread since Wednesday morning and I only scrolled down to the end without reading the first part. My hair's standing on end.

I had to abandon ship that morning to call my parents. Mom was crying that she never thought she'd see anything worse than the Oklahoma City bombing, and I could only stare at the television and think that the Murrah Federal building could have easily been fit twice into the gaping hole in the first tower. At that moment I never dreamed I'd be watching both towers collapse within the hour.

Gives me the chills to read this again now.
