In Hamburg, Germany, there is probably the only room for prayers in a state engineer college.
On the door, a large photo, a panorama of Mecca. This door is now sealed. The room assigned for prayers as the result of the efforts of the man that was sitting at the cockpit of the plane that destroyed the second WTC tower.

Keep in mind that the German Federal government has prohibited christian crosses to be hang on the walls of any state schools, two years ago.

Germany is our ally. It's a damn good ally to have, juding both by the German people I know and the security their states enforce, including machine-gun type airport security.
Freedom of religion and expression are American ideals. So what if there is a picture of Mecca somewhere in Germany? I have a poster of the Berlin Wall; that doesn't mean that I am a Communist.

The Rector of the school, Professor Machule, described Mohamed El-Amir as a beautiful person (liebenswerter Mensch) that moved around the campus where he studied from 1992 till 1999 like a fish in the water.
