As a boomer I find that offensive. We really need to avoid the broad brush. I may be a boomer, but that doesn't mean I've not been contemplating enlisting.......HAVE YOU?

I'm sorry that you find that statement offensive. I, too, am a baby boomer. I was born at the tail end of the era. I find many, if not most, of my generation to be self-centered, immature boors who won't make a sacrifice for their children, let alone their country. The older ones seem to want to tax the rest of us to death in order to get their governmental "perks," and the younger ones are on their second, third, or fourth marriages with his, hers, and their kids.

Of course, this does not apply to EVERYONE born during the baby-boomer period, but it is something I have noticed. The kids of baby-boomers have been short-changed by their parents, many of whom never grew up themselves.
