3 questioned for airplane bathroom stunt

CHICAGO, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- The FBI Monday questioned three people whom they say interfered with the flight crew of an American Airlines flight from Austin, Texas, to O'Hare International Airport.

The people, two men and one woman, were taken into federal custody after American Flight 528 landed without incident at the airport.

FBI spokeswoman Sonya Chavez was unable to identify the people, nor could she say what kind of charges, if any, would be brought against them.

Investigators said the three passengers locked themselves in bathrooms on board the airplane before the flight landed, and refused to cooperate with the flight crew.

The airplane landed at 10:33 a.m. CDT, at which time passengers were removed safety after federal officials and Chicago Police swarmed the airplane.

No one was injured in the incident.

What could they have been thinking so soon after flights resumed?

A national crisis in the area of airline security is probably a bad time to check "Three-way" and "Mile High Club" off your "to do" list

So now we know... Just like sailors call their bathrooms "The Head", in Aviation Language they call the bathroom "The Cockpit"...

They're damn lucky there weren't any sky marshalls on board. They'd be dead by now.

If this was a joke, at a minimum, they must NEVER be allowed to fly on a US airplane again! If it was not a joke, put them before a Military tribunal.

I can't imagine the level of idiot who would think that this is the time for fun and games on an airline. Were they drunk? Maybe there should be breathalysers before boarding a plane? (joke)

I see a more sinister potential ... plane empties out, they come out of the head and take over the plane, taking it off to who knows what destiny of terror!

LOL I am certain they REALLY needed a toilet when they opened the door and found armed agents of the government waiting outside.

Yes, but the fact that everyone knew they were in the head sort of foiled their plan, eh? At that point it's time to try something else.

I've heard that one jokester has already stood up on a flight and said he had a bomb. It was a hoax, but I wouldn't blame the passengers for beating the crap out of him.

I'd like to hear Paul Harvey and "the rest of the story" on this one.

I think a fitting punishment would be three shots of the blue stuff that sloshes around in the airline "toilets".

anyone does this sitting next to me will have a collapsed windpipe before he can finish the "m" sound on "bomb".

My exact sentiments! Although, I would forcefully remove said windpipe as an example for any others that might have similar thoughts. One simple and smooth move...crush and pull.

three passengers locked themselves in bathrooms...

It would be hard to try a three-way while occupying seperate bathrooms.
