I think your campaign got his attention. You made a wise decision to terminate it now. Thank you for all your time and efforts that you put into the recall campaign.

Amen. I am pleased to see that McCain is out there leading the charge against Osama and his minions. He is also pointing out the need for us to beef up our military - and he is right about that. These are the things I think we all want to see him doing right now. But I think he also understands that we're serious about ALL attacks on our freedom.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! This is horrible news. I hope you will be sure and resume your efforts to oust the traitorous liberal Republican Sen. McCain at the earliest possible opportunity.

The stuff MurryMom spurts on these threads doesn't come from her head. That may be so, but that's what she uses it for.
Another "stuck at work" BUMP!

Good recall at this time.

He remains a very dangerous man and, over the long term, may be more dangerous to this country than the terrorists who attacked us last week. After this -- you would have to recall every senator and house representative. I think the vast majority will be voting to impede your freedom. Go look at the TOP gainers on the NYSE today. The majority are BIOMETRIC companies (retinal scanners, fingerprint, facial recognition systems). On a day we lost over 600 points on the DOW, these companies gained 50-200%. Care to guess why?

That is, good recall of the recall.

A "ping" from the trenches over here. (And *no* I am not lighting off nuclear warheads again!)

I too live in Kolbe's district. Please cease your efforts to convince everyone that he is anything other than a freakin' RINO. I agree with the sentiment that we should have tried to rid the Arizona delegation of Kolbe before we went after McCain. Kolbe is far worse - just look at his ENTIRE voting record. There isn't an unconstitutional social program to which Kolbe wouldn't lend his undying support. A few years ago I took his voting record and compared it to the rest of Congress and found he voted more socialist than 97% of the Republicans and 66% of the Democrats (if you can imagine that).

Thank you for the dittos - I expected to be mercilessly flamed on this thread. It seems we need people like Mccain out of positions of power now more than ever. Our Constitution is under full-fledged attack from within and without.

Under the circumstances, ending the campaign is understandable....but I just gave out two more petitions on Saturday.

McCain still keeps calling America a Democracy. Isn't that some sort of violation of his oath? I mean, if he doesn't even know what America is supposed to be, how on earth can he succesfully work to ensure its safety?Give me a break with the america-is-not-a-democracy-it's-a-republic semantic onanism. It's tiresome and simple-minded hairsplitting. We live in a democratic republic, and the shorthand is democracy. Should I take you to task for calling this country America and not the United States of America? "America" could be construed as the shorthand for one of two continents...

You've done the right thing and I applaud your decision.

Not hero worship, just respect of a candidate who follows through on his promises (he promised during campaign that he'd push for CFR, Patient Bill of Rights, etc., even if he lost election)...Of course, now the promises have to take a back seat to winning the war we're in and you'll find that Sen. McCain is as patriotic as they come. Just watch Larry King tonight for your own perspective!Bravo for sticking to your principles in the face of such opposition. Most if not all of the sleazy allegations (oft repeated here) against McCain are false, and while I don't agree with all of his positions, I believe him to be a patriot and an inspiring leader: something this country needs right now on every level of government, not just from the Oval Office.

dittomom - You and your co-workers have made the best decision, given the circumstances.
And beyond that: kudos for all you've done.
Who knows?
McCain may watch his step a little more in the future because he knows his constituents are paying attention!
To: Spiff
If you feel so strongly, why didn't you challenge him in the primary? That's the only way to unseat him. Believe me, the Dems who ran against him were far worse. You look at the district you're in; then you do the best you can. Tucson is NOT Sierra Vista.

This is a time when Americans must rally behind all their leaders, set differences aside, and unite against the forces of evil that have perpetrated and supported the savage attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. Does this also include the hildebeast in the mix? If so, my answer is NEVER!! Good call on McEgo (for the time being) however.
