This is what honest-to-goodness patriots do when situations change and become dire. McCain deserved a recall movement, but considering the current circumstances, the recall drive seems obsolete - particularly as McCain has shown his unequivocable support for the president and America as a whole.

For an example of what honest-to-goodness cowards and traitors do in critical situations, see the Democrat Underground website, or any number of liberal columnists...

You never give up your disrupting ways, do you? What will it take for you to become honest?

Hope this does not mean Condit is getting off the hook also.

This may be dark humor, but Gary Condit has to be the luckiest man alive right now.

However, should the country get back to normal and John McCain and his liberal friends decide to again attack our rights to free speech and to defend our families, this committee has a long list of reliable volunteers who will be prepared to launch another recall.

But the country will never 'get back to normal.' McCain, and those like him, will now never be seriously persued.

We can keep the petitions, but they are not valid toward another recall attempt. However, if we decide to do this again, we have a ready list of people to contact for new signatures.

God may have mercy on you, but we won't.

Yep. McInsane in his element.

That many now call him sane I find disturbing.

It is we who have changed, not him.

That was probably the dumbest argument I've ever seen posted here. Congratulations.

Save your stupid hate for Bin Laden, TexASS...Sen. McCain had more patriotism in his malignant melanoma than you have under that 10-gallon cowboy hat you use for brains!

You're right. What we need to do is abolish the Constitution, then we can *really* focus on fighting Bin Laden.

On a day we lost over 600 points on the DOW, these companies gained 50-200%. Care to guess why?

It's almost over. We have another 6 months to a year, maybe even two years. But it will be over soon. We will cease to be a Republic based on God and freedom, and instead become a police state always at war with some group of terrorists. Always calling those who might object to 'rally round the flag' in a neverending crusade against a shadowy enemy that we never quite wipe out (which will be made evident by occasional bombings, et al).

The sheep on the Left were ready to embrace this anyway. The sheep on the Right just needed an outside enemy they could vent their wrath on while piously claiming Justice, Patriotism, and Vengence.

One show ends; another show begins. Should be interesting.

PS I am not saying our government orchestrated this attack. They didn't have to. They knew this was going to happen eventually, IMO, and are taking advantage of the result. You can call me insensitive if you want, but if you *really* think our politicians are more sensitive than I am...well, if you think that, there's no point in my trying to convince you otherwise.

Good move, dittomom. While I don't like McCain (this from a Navy jet jocks wife, 2 tours Viet Nam), I did like that he said we should look really hard before we start giving up our freedoms just to feel safe (MSNBC TownHall last night).

I agree McCain WAS a good man but LOOK at his anti GOP pro DemocRat voting record since Bush kicked his butt.

If I had been beaten by such dirty tactics (remember the cancer comments in South Carolina?) which were approved by the GOP that basically deserted McCain before the primaries even began, I too would be anti-GOP until my wounds had healed.
The truth of the matter is that W was the GOP's annointed candidate before the primaries, and that our party is no more willing to accept honest debate than the DemoncRats. We were so hell-bent on not losing the election to Herr Gore that we lost sight of the justice we were fighting for.
McCain was and is a hero.

." You can call me insensitive if you want" I want to........Even though all of the politicians in America had a huge meeting and decided to cause a war, we shouldn't be putting them down.

He wasn't deserted by the GOP, he deserted them and went over to the "indendents" (read DemocRats wanting to defeat Bush and thereby becoming the media darling) Not the GOP leaders but the GOP voters made their decision over and over. He WAS good but no gun grabber is going to be called a patriotic hero in my home.

Quote: With this moral cause in mind, our committee has decided that although our original goal was important, it is no longer in our state and nation’s best interest to remain divided over legislative differences. We began the recall effort to defend our constitutional rights. Now, our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is under clear and immediate danger from a well-organized international network of evil. "................. Dear Ms Regan and Supporters, As with your own fine campaign, I to was involved with Constitutionalists, holding fire to the feet of Government. I had the pleasure of working with "We The People Foundation". We also shall not be pushing ahead, for reasons like your own. We want to support the Country we love. Yet, I fear my Government. I have not been able to resolve the anger and frustration of knowing that we may never again get a shot at these folks..McCain /IRS/ Federal Reserve/ Anti-Second Amendment folks like Hellery/Schumer/ Feinstein. The "well-organized international network of evil. " you refered to may well prove to be a smoke screen by the Globalists traitors in Washington. Yes, we were attacked by evil. But as the threads unfold, Americans MUST be vigilant to the fact that they were successful due to complicity from within our Country. May God have mercy on our souls and our fine Country. We shall overcome the oppression from outside. The question remains, do Americans' have the fortitude to overcome the "evil" within our Country. Thanks to one and all for your dedication to America. Yours in Liberty, Marobe

He wasn't deserted by the GOP

BS. President Bush was the GOP's tacitly annointed candidate before even New Hampshire. McCain was forced to the middle to try to find support that wasn't coming from the far right or the GOP establishment. And since he is a man of his word, he followed through on his commitment to the positions he found himself forced to take during the primaries OUT OF POLITICAL NECESSITY. Note his Conservative rating pre-election. I may not agree with his most recent politics, but I do not find the laws that challenge the supremacy of the 2nd amendment to be excessive. I bought a Beretta last month with no problem.

I do not doubt our President's legitimacy, I simply find fault with the lack of appreciation for honest debate within the GOP. Do you think Bob Dole was the strongest Republican in 1996? He was next in line and the annointed one, and it cost us 4 more years of the rapist. Pat Buchanan did not cost us the 1996 election; the lack of debate and consequently the lack of the strongest candidate did. The GOP's PRI-esque form of succession almost cost us the election in 2000!!!

I urge you to develop a critical eye on our party so that the strongest candidate will always emerge victorious.

PS The RINO label only ends up polarizing our party and sapping our strength. We need to be less dogmatic! A middle-of-the-road Republican is still 10000000 times better than a Clinton, Gore, Edwards or Davis.
