Look, I agree now is not the time for disunity, but I just don't understand the depth of your "hero worship". My son was in the service for 7 years, in EOD for 5; he had a great deal of respect for Senator McCain. I can tell you he was very disappointed in his actions after Bush assumed the Presidency.

Not hero worship, just respect of a candidate who follows through on his promises (he promised during campaign that he'd push for CFR, Patient Bill of Rights, etc., even if he lost election)...Of course, now the promises have to take a back seat to winning the war we're in and you'll find that Sen. McCain is as patriotic as they come. Just watch Larry King tonight for your own perspective!

Bravo for sticking to your principles in the face of such opposition. Most if not all of the sleazy allegations (oft repeated here) against McCain are false, and while I don't agree with all of his positions, I believe him to be a patriot and an inspiring leader: something this country needs right now on every level of government, not just from the Oval Office.
