Passports immediately identify all non-Americans, because they would be carrying foreign passports. This allows them to be given special scrutiny, such as, say, everyone who is a national of a Muslim country. This is why passports are much more useful for screening than drivers licenses and non-license photo ID's.

Passports are already used to screen foreign travel, but not very effictively. Extension to domestic is relatively simple, while making it more useful can be done easily.

The Russians won't supply them and the Paks are afraid to, Iraq has no way to get the stuff there, and has lost its Russian suppliers. So if we can keep Iran and Syria from supplying the Taliban the game is over for the Taliban.

I'm most concerned about CHINA supplying them. US Big Business is heavily invested in China. I think this is/was always a BIG MISTAKE. I see Chinese government as totally pragmatic and amoral, and a hater of the US. They use us to further their machine. Ann speaks from her heart. And with no shame. She's suffered a tremendous personal loss in Barbara Olson's death. I whole - "heart" - edly agree with all her remarks in this article, as well as her "This Is War" article last week.

I hope I can live up to the example of Barbara and Ann in speaking the truth particularly when it is hard to hear. I'm going to give it all I've got. Will you guys join me? Let's make a commitment to each other to stop hiding our Republicanism or conservatism at the office - maybe you don't, but I have at times. I see. Because she is blond she can get away with making dumb inflammatory statements.

For one thing, Christians don't "force" people to convert. Conversion comes from God. We are tools in God's hands, but it is the Holy Spirit that does the work.

And to scream that we should "nuke em" off the face of the earth is nothing short of knee-jerk emotionalism. Who exactly is "them?" The Afghanees? The people of Afghanistan didn't cheer in the streets. They didn't even know it happened. They are as innocent as the people AT the WTC.
